- Ikea ALEX Desk Assembly instructions. A detailed video on how to assemble the Ikea ALEX desk. Modern-looking ALEX desk has a finished back and opening storage space for your cable management. You can get an Ikea ALEX desk in two different sizes. The one in the video is 132cm/58cm and the smaller version is 100cm/48xm. The Ikea ALEX desk has two drawers at the front. For the hinge flap 6:50 make sure arrow is towards color part of piece…12:50 stand from the angle he is standing to get the hinge to go in top part and then snap the bottom.

FOR ANYONE WITH PROBLEMS WITH THE HINGES: (use the translator)
- Comprueba que la pieza atornillada a la mesa está en el sentido correcto (la flecha hacia arriba)
- Comprueba que los tornillos están bien atornillados: hace falta que no sobresalgan para poder enganchar la bisagra
Si estos pasos están bien fíjate en que la bisagra tiene una pequeña barra que debes enganchar en el hueco de arriba
Después de haberlo enganchado, empuja un poco hacia abajo para encajar bien la barra en el hueco y, en la parte inferior presiona para que haga "click".

Great video thanks! Check your clips are the right way around before attempting to clip the back panel to it. We had upside down and couldn’t work out the problem !! 😅

I’ve given up after 4 days trying to do the hinges. I’m over it
I accidentally did 6:58 but didn’t put the screws all the way in as they stopped for me and thought they couldn’t go further in. I don’t have a electric screwdriver 😭 so when I went to do step 13:00 ofc the hook didn’t work bc the screws are in the way 🥹🥹 I don’t think I can take everything apart again but do you think a mini electric screwdriver will fit within the desk to make the screws go more in the little hooks in step 6:58 ?

Should one of the desk legs be smaller than the other? I’m having trouble getting the legs lined up with the middle bar and I’m wondering if I was given the wrong part?
Please help me! I just purchased this last week, when attempting to add the rails, the holes don’t line up properly. My rails don’t even look like yours or the manual’s. I went back to IKEA, got all new rails because I thought it had to be some error but, they were the exact same as what I already have!

Did you get it figured out? Mine were the same as the ones in the video but it was bought months ago. Maybe IKEA changed them and a more recent video would show “new “ rails..?

At 10:33 I cannot get that cross beam to slide all the way into the slots. It's as if the tabs on the beam don't have enough space to fit into the slots on the legs. Any suggestions?

hello as u said the desk is 132x58 is it possible to shorten into 130x58? I have a designated place for it and it can only fit a 130.. and idk what to do pls help
There’s two versions of this build, around 4:40 the piece doesn’t always come how it does in his version. You have to screw it then slide it in another version.

IM STUCK HERE HOW DID YALL DO THIS PART?!
When attaching the bottom part of the desk, shown at 8:57, I am unable to do it properly, I can get the wooden pegs in but then the main screw in the middle is out of alignment, if the main screw in the middle cab get aligned, then it means that not all the pegs can get in. Does anyone have any tips for this?
true story. just assembled mine today, I wish it took 15 minutes! lots of things don't align, neither does going to ikea! it:s like walking into a playground, although the desk was on sale!

What I did was just get rid of the wooden pegs in the middle and have everything else align and then put in the middle screw. :/
@@mochiwonders sollution: smash all the wooden thingys into the holes with a hammer, if they are not all way in they dont align

Can we make it a floating desk without the legs ?
I thing you would need some support under. The Desk is quiet heavy possibly some L brackets if you have solid wall. If plasterboard I found not recommend to do the floating desk.
The little hinge at around 7 minutes--the white plastic covering the screws is not going all the way in. Did I do something wrong?
Once you secure the screws it should go all the way in
