The Story of Desolace [Lore]

  • I originally planned to do the story of Darkshore, but considering we've just done the Darkshore campaign and the story of Nathanos...I figured that a change of scenery might be nice! Desolace was the most requested zone and honestly, it has quite a lot of history. From the summoning of Theradras to the creation of the Centaur and the naga scheming their way on land....I hope you'll enjoy ^_^.

And today i learned that the Felsteed is originary from Desolace....

I spent hours in Desolace back in Vanilla. When my mage was around her early level 30's, I first went to Stranglethorn as most Alliance players are wont to do. It felt way too crowded for my liking, however so I looked around for an alternative and found it in Desolace. I stayed in Desolace from level 32 ish up to 38 ish and during my entire time there, I only ever saw a handful of people. There weren't really a lot of quests to do around there back then, but I just spent my time grinding mobs and looking for the most lucrative vendor trash mobs around so I could make a little change while leveling. I always kinda liked Desolace. It was far enough away from the Alliance hotspots that I didn't have to worry about sharing mobs with anyone and most Horde players tended to ignore it as well. The very few Horde players I did see had zero interest in fighting me however and seemed to be more interested in moving out of Desolace asap.

It would be interesting to know if at one point the princess actually was beutiful, not like a human would see her but a more primal beuty.

Uldum, it was an interesting zone. unfortunately we don't see anything from there anymore. it was the zone behind the wall, where nothing was known. it is ancient, so must have quite a history.

Man I farmed that trinket back in the day as a tank and honestly hated it. Just the having to wear such old gear that would cause such spike damage to me without my other stats. Phew... glad to not be doing that anymore! Just killing all centaur instead....
