Thanks for the how-to. This is the strangest design I've ever seen for swapping the battery - it would have taken me all day to figure this out on my own. :-)
First, the keyboard is glued with two sided tape so it feels like you are breaking something getting it off. It also has clips all around don't try to undo the bottom until last. Second, there are 3 screws under the keyboard that need to be removed. The third screw was hidden under a Lenovo label, thanks Lenovo. Thirdly, there is no need to disconnect the keyboard harness.

This Lenovo is the worst laptop (I think is desktop for me as I can not move it nowhere as it needs to be plugged in at all times) I have ever had and seeing how hard it will be to change the battery which lasted almost 2 years............ My husband has HP and after 4 years the battery died (fair enough) and you just replace it in less than 2 seconds!!!!!!! LENOVO ARE YOU SERIOUS????????? Sooooo STUPID DESIGN!!!!!! How on earth I can replace your very very bad batteries?????????? I am soo stupid for choosing this in the first place and now seeing that I need to make a whole operation just to replace the battery which was definitely built to last less than 2 years, additionally the screen seems to be built to destroy the eyesight. Never ever LENOVO again
i did it thank you mr good time tech the only problem i had was connecting the battery end to its socket that part you did not make it clear so i looked at many u tubes to see where it is hidden under and eventually i did it,my comment you are the best in the group in explaing how to replace battery because you narrate the others are using annoying music andare mute one knows nothing what are they doing with no explanation . .my small advise e next time use a better light and a of high magnification over all you get 90% congratulation
You are absolutely right. I ordered a battery online, and I was getting ready to install it. I wished I would have watched this video first - and I would have bought a new laptop. And certainly not a Lenovo.

how stupid that design is, I have 3 laptops and i remove my batteries for long time life, taking care of over heating and usage, i have one of these laptops but after seeing your video it would be more problems to take battery out, so much can go wrong. thanks for video..

Hi, there are possibilities that the body that holds the hinges may break, to avoid breakage you need to keep the laptop display open(as you keep it during usage) until you finish the whole process, open the display , place the laptop upside down on the edge of the table display facing downwards and continue disassembling. hope you understood the process, i will make a video on same in a day or two and upload it, kindly subscribe and click on bell icon to get notification. I'll never ever buy Lenovo again... The design is just trash. All the computer i had, it was easy to remove batterie, now i litteraly have to dismantle the computer. My batterie is all fuck up now because it's Always on charge and the autonomy is also trash

It took me 5 minutes to disassemble the whole laptop. Is not as hard as it looks.
This is a good video, but I also have trouble with this design. This is a very good reason to never buy a Lenovo again.

Yes, there are screws under the keyboard that hold the bottom cover in place. Plus you also need to remove the battery connector as well
