    I was once stuck on an LNER train on the ECML because of a broken down train (from another operator) further up the track. Everything was blocked for hours and we were the first train to reach the broken down one, but still took us three hours to get to it. That stretch of track would normally take 50 minutes to cover on a normal run.
    I hate to think how much that cost. LNER refunded everyone onboard and all trains up to 7pm were totally cancelled, which means more refunds and wrecks the schedule for the next day because staff and rolling stock are in the wrong place (similar to what happens after strikes). People onboard were also looking for help from staff because they now just couldn't get to London, events and meetings missed so there was no point in continuing with their journey yet they were stuck on the train anyway, pre-booked tickets and hotel rooms that now couldn't be used and so on. I missed my own connection and had to pay another £44 to get home three hours late that night.
    I heard a lot of stories that afternoon. There were even some girls doing makeup at their table because they were going out that night and wouldn't get to their hotel in time.
    It was a disaster and really shocked me just how little resilience there was. One train completely f-cks up arguably the most important line in the UK and nobody knew how to handle it or what to do.

      The original recordings have been bought out in the last 3 years, it was originally Spark who had these before they were bought out by 2 different companies. Sound quality unfortunatley has dropped since the entire 3 series' were passed down.

    Fella, good of you to Hel the elderly lady but may I suggest, perhaps, that you walk with her, at her slower rate/ability, instead of leading off in front. Twas clear she couldn't keep up and though no problem, her hip prob may have led to a fall. Keep On.

    20:20 "I don't check their tickets you have to have respect for those.... I just let them go". Next breathe stopping middle aged foreign men asking for tickets. Mate needs to be consistent instead of discriminate & check all tickets. From my experience its the 'dear old ladies' who are the worst fare evaders because staff like him treat them as 'dear old ladies' & they get away with it.

    Those are some workers who would be singing a different tune if they found their selves in a similar situation... Definitely not remembering the 10 in life. Not caring for their neighbors but only about themselves... but as in the days of Noah so shall it be...

    • @Suisfonia
      @Suisfonia 2 года назад +3

      Actually most of them wouldn't be singing a different tune. I used to work in hospitality, doing so has caused me to develop quite a bit of patience and *understanding* of how things work and why things happen which is why when I'm in similar situations as the guests I've dealt with I am always calm and collected and never rude toward the employees.
      On the other hand, my friend of mine who has never once worked in hospitality, easily gets frustrated and runs out of patience when in similar situations (and to a point where I've sometimes had to calm him down)
