It’s not so easy to get the entire story of these concept albums without listening to them from beginning to end. Yes, he is a huge Sci-Fi fan and one project is albums based on Sci-Fi shows and movies, and this is one, from Star One. As always, everyone kills it. I was very lucky to be there live. There is usually a “choir situation” at these concerts. You can actually see Arjen himself playing guitar in this video, which is rare. These concerts are an experience and beautiful. They do get stuck in your head. Life-changing stuff.
You figured the song out, it's also on the first Star One album ,Space Metal, with Eye of Ra and Intergalactic Space Crusaders. This concert was 2019, and again, you found the show closer. in a 25 song 2 1/2 hour show. This concert had a narrator. Who would narrate for Arjen , a huge sci fi fan? That would be one John de Lancie. Another reason for the Star Trek uniform.
Thank you for watching right to the end. When you watch Sabaton playing "Christmas Truce", (which you will - there's zero chance that you won't ever get to see it eventually) you have to watch that through till it's over. A lot of reactors stop watching as soon as the credits start to roll (yes, it is such an epic music video it has credits!) and when they stop listening the best bit.
Every single Arjen show is amazing. There is no bad song in them. I discovered Ayreon (and Arjen) during the pandemic and I was amuzed. Since then I loved him and each one of his collaborators. I have watched Universe and Electric castle shows a thousand of times. In Star One show there are some of these artist very young; The Theater of Equation show is completely theatrical. Both are great shows too. And the last one, Live Beneath the Waves, is wonderful (I was there 😊). I feel emotional just watching you excited. Cheers from Chile❤
For the record: "Songs of the Ocean" is a song of the "Star One" project (another side project of the mastermind Arjen Anthony Lucassen). This was the last song of the concert "Electric Castle Live and Other Tales" that was structured in the following way: 1) playing the Ayreon album "Into the Electric Castle" in its entirety 2) playing one song for each of the other side project created by Arjen plus the Marillion song "Kayleigh" sang by Fish (the first Marillion singer that wrote that song). The section "Other Tales" of the concert was composed by A song from the project "The Gentle Storm" A song from the project "Ambeon" A song from the project "Stream of Passion" A song from the project "The Guilt Machine" The song "Kayleigh" A song from the last Arjen solo album The song "Songs of the Ocean" from the project Star One That's how creative Arjen's mind is.

John De Lancie is the Narrator and also was on stage on the part when all the singers came out. Who is he?. Q from Star trek the Next Generation. It was during that time the Borg's was introduced.
Actually, as a ST:TNG geekette, I must protest. Q appeared in "Encounter at Farpoint", the pilot episode in 1987. The Borg weren't introduced until a later episode. But, yes. I saw him immediately. 🖖🏼
For this concert Arjen needed an announcer/speaker and asked Q / John Delancy. As this is the last song of the concert John Delancy had no text, but you see him in the crowd of singers/players.
Another grand finale where all of the musicians and cast come on stage to take their bow. This is a great show. Very theatrical. This one is from the Ayreon Universe show. One of my favorites. And again this is a Star One song... ;-) Funny how you pick only Star One songs from the Ayreon concerts... Electric Castle Live and other tales is an integral playback of the original record whith almost the entire original cast of artists, while the so-called 'Other Tales', are all songs from Arjen's side projects. The other tales were basically the encores to the concert. This is the very last one, the show closer. You should really try to react to actual Ayreon songs, because right now all you know is not Ayreon but Star One. It might be a good idea to react to the whole show, since you get to listen to the whole rock opera in it's full entirety and really experience what Ayreon is all about. Even though Star One songs are great as well, it's not the same as Ayreon. Just some friendly advice. Here is the link to the concert playlist: ruclips.net/video/Z6YFbgMzkZY/видео.html
I thank you for this comment, and all that implies. As a reactor, I read the title to the song as the original video reads, including the purported artist. It's a legal thing. Also, unless it's a priority request, I choose songs at random (usually because I dig the title). I will exhaust the whole Ayreon/Star One/Other collabs Universe. I'm so enthusiastic about this whole journey.
