As the job of Leadership evolves, inherent paradoxes emerge; focus on sustainability but increase profits, collaborate at every turn but stay in control, be agile and innovative BUT decisive, adhere to ethics and governance BUT take risks, self-regulate, manage your own well-being so you can remain calm and consistent in word and deed BUT be always connected, always on and always open to more.
How then can we sustain our existing Leaders, nurture Future Leaders, and have the courage to resolve the organisational challenges that might be working against the job (or vocation) that is Leadership?
