    I’m transferring to UIUC for CS. Thank you so much for making these videos.

    Also realized while editing I had sunscreen on my neck. Sorry for the distraction, it's 90 degrees out here

    For new viewers. If you are not currently enrolled at UIUC as of 2023, you will not be able to transfer into pure CS (CS at Grainger) anymore. The department has decided to close down intra-collegiate transfers for some odd reason. Instead you can only apply for CS + X programs within UIUC.
    Students from outside UIUC can still transfer into pure CS because the university has to keep "state pathway programs" (from community colleges) open.
    If you want to do CS and you don't get in for pure CS at UIUC (and have no interest in CS + X), you are now definitely better off going elsewhere. Even if your plan is still to transfer into pure CS at UIUC.

    Math and CS have to take MATH441 not 285. 441 is also diffeq just more theoretical than 285

    Hello, is it harder to get accepted to CS+ physics or only CS. Also, Does CS+ Physics mean I will have around half of teh CS coursework and half of the physics coursework? Lastly, Does adding a second choice a computer engineering decrease my chances of getting CS. Thank YOu

    Hey Brain!, I really enjoyed the video. I'm a newly junior transferred student at UIUC with CS + ECON major. I have a few questions... It's possible to transfer over to CS ENG within CS + X program? It's worth it to transfer over to CS ENG? I'm kinda worried about getting a BSLAS instead of a BS in Engineering.. Because of that, I keep thinking of transferring over to CS ENG.

      Hey! Congrats on the transfer! I don’t think it matters to employers whether you’re in the college of engineering or LAS so I don’t think you need to transfer. In addition, because you’re in CS+X you have the ability to take any CS class CS engineering students can take which is the most important thing imo

    Hi! New CS freshman here---I'm wondering if there are any specific CS or technical course requirements to graduate? (I looked online and I saw that there are only the GenEds and Cultural Studies requirements, so does that mean you can just choose whatever technical classes you want?)

    • @BrianLoh
      @BrianLoh  10 месяцев назад

      Should ask your counselor but I believe for CS you have to follow a specific tech path to graduate

    Loh, UIUC ranks #5, but seems very high admission rate , can you please explain how? Thanks

    • @jeffjones3145
      @jeffjones3145 2 года назад +3

      ranks #5 for CS, so their cs is very hard to get into. other majors not so much

      UIUCs engineering is much much harder to get into compared to other programs. CS should be around 15% acceptance rate.

      And 25.6% for the CS+X program, so basically both CS and CS+X are competitive
