Hey Billy I’m taking lessons from a Malaska certified instructor here in Denver. Working on keeping the club face square through swing with shorter shots like in this video has done absolute wonders for me the last couple weeks. Thanks for all the help bud can’t tell you how much your videos have helped as well.

Thanks for the video! Is it safe to say that your swing is more right hand dominant, from a movement, guidance and release perspective?

Philip Montera Hi Phil. Thanks for the email. Yes. And this relates to grip. Your left hand helps square and stabilize the face while your eight hand provides face awareness in relation to all parts of the swing. That’s why your eight hand is meant to mimic the face of the club by its orientation on the grip.

Thanks for addressing these issues. I agree with all of the concepts you demonstrated here. I think these areas need more exploration and more study/research so that it can become conventional teaching in the near future. I appreciate that you are attempting to help people understand, because these are things that beginners and high handicappers may never learn or comprehend otherwise. In my opinion, the grip, proper hand/wrist motions, and proper intent (as you've shown here) will intuitively lead to more proper body motions. Modern teaching focuses too much on the body as if it is the only factor to producing goods shots. But people with poor body mechanics, usually have a poor grip, poor hand/wrist motions, and poor intent, which causes extraneous motions in an attempt to gain leverage on the club. I think the hands should be trained first, and then the body can move to facilitate the proper hand motions. Thanks again.
