It is very strange the extreme tunnel vision fandoms have. It’s quite disturbing the arguments against clear facts. Refusing to acknowledge actual documented achievements appears delusional to me.
I agree. I'm new to kpop and fandoms and I stay off social media. It's toxic. But I wanted to learn about ARMY and BTS so I researched and looked around. I was shocked and delighted. I like TXT and Kard mostly but BTS has got me intrigued! I'm really glad I started listening to their music.

Unfortunately they get death threats and even if the people making them would never do it, they have to be to careful. People who make hate speech or death threats should be held accountable not just by paying fines but jailed. Maybe jail time will give them time to reflect on what is and is not acceptable behavior 😞

This fandom is getting more and more toxic. They are anywhere bashing other artists. They feel superior and overproud.
I started to listen to BTS songs three years ago but even before I tried to enjoy them, I saw many of what their cult fandom did on socmed. I am sick of them. And to be honest, BTS themselves is just an overrated group that tries hard to get western approval and recognition. And Hybe ruin the whole kpop industry.
You must not be in kpop. I am not an expert on ARMY but I find ALL of kpop and parasocial relationships in kpop toxic. Social media and the internet has turned things for the worse in the past 10 years from what I've heard and seen. So it's not just ARMY it's all of it really. I can say that ARMY has such a variety of ages and countries that yes there are toxic fans but most fans that are older aren't crazy. Other fandoms are FULL of young, young kids. It's the young ones I have seen the most crazed behavior. Most of kpop is 13-18yr olds and some in their early 20s which to me is still too young to be on the internet talking crazy to people. I'm like go touch some grass kid.
But ARMY...they are getting older. So I see much more maturity from them. But they fiercely protect BTS and after watching the history of BTS I get it now!! People have hated on them consistently. I've never seen ANYTHING like it. It's a deep jealousy of BTS from other fandoms.

Army is on another level. They are cult. And people hate BTS and its fandom not only based on jelousy. But I bet people are annoyed too. Toxic fantom started with toxic fans, and they are simply toxic people, that have to spit their venom in the world. They, eventually, are just some frustated people, that are projecting their frustration on others. What great target, than some talented artists that have the love and support of some millions of their followers?
