Technology is wrecking lots of things... IT / Information Technology used to be fun and cool to be in before management and executives distorted it and turned it against everyone. They took something that could be awesome and turned it into a dystopian nightmare.

What I didn't like about trucking was having to call and get permission and money to buy oil, anti-gel, windshield wiper fluid, grease, and everything else. Another thing I hated was dispatchers lying about how much time it would take to move a load. I would get called before the info was in the Qualcom computer and asked to take a load. They claimed I could do it in two days. Then the miles would come and I would be late because it was farther than they said. My bonus depended on being on time for the month.
I hated having to punch in a hundred numbers on key pads when buying fuel and trying to find working washing machines and dryers.
I love the map and direction technology. Now with cell companies offering internet service while on the road, staying connected and entertained is easy. Having APUs for AC and heat is a game changer. Restaurant and grocery store delivery services make life easier too at truck stops.
