    They could add the Olmecs. Or the Toltecs. The Toltecs made the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon. One of the most important archeological structures of Mexico. Massive thing too. They were extinct 1500 years before the Aztecs.

    • @Γνώστηςτωνγατών
      @Γνώστηςτωνγατών Год назад +6

      So Toltecs lived in early Medieval Ages, they should be added to the original AOE II, anyway Olmecs, early Maya, Chavin/Moche could be added to this game, the other thing is that there are no evidence of their contacts with ancient civilizations of Asia, Europe and Africa, unlike the 16th century A.D.

    • @zxylo786
      @zxylo786 Год назад +2

      @Γνώστης των γατών You are right. Toltecs for AoE2. And Cuicuilcans for AoE1 (estemated to have lived between 100 a.c. to 700 a.c. While still not "ancient" for European standards. It still touches the later part)
      They even have their own wonder. The circular pyramid of Cuicuilco which you can still visit today on Mexico.

    • @zxylo786
      @zxylo786 Год назад +1

      @Γνώστης των γατών And there is no need for contact. Mayans didn't even contact the Aztecs on the AoE2 period. And the skirmishes they had with the Spanish were so minor that it is often just a footnote.

    • @zxylo786
      @zxylo786 Год назад +1

      @Γνώστης των γατών So apparently, both Cuicuilcans and Toltecs were in the same period, and Teotihuacan was made around the first century a.c. it fits the theme of AoE1 then. Both fought for power and were rivals. Up until Cuicuilco was burned by an eruption of a volcano.

    I do really wish that Return of Rome would've added in more bonus civs to excite players outside of Vietnam, it would've been nice to have the Celts, Nords, Iberians, Scythians, Xiongnu/Huns, Goths, some variation of the Indians, etc. Considering the Age of Empires 1's time period easily extends to the end of the Classical Era, it feels weird not having a single civilization that aptly represents any of the European tribes that the Romans battled with.
    Also, it would've been nice if they added in some unique units and unique wonders too in order to make all the civilizations feel different. I don't even think AoE1 fans would've minded that addition.

      It's the original civs from AoE 1 + a new Vietnamese civ. I'm sure more civs will be added later because some very obvious ones are missing like Gauls/Germans, Israelites and so forth. The possibilities for new civs in AoE 1 are absolutely endless. The ancient world was so diverse.

    i dont know why people insist on adding unique units and techs ot this game ITS AOE1 not 2 people! this game isnt same as aoe2! it doesnt play the same it needs to keep its own character distinct from aoe2 one if they add all this stuff of unique units and techs then its just aoe2 re skinned in aoe1 while i agree each should have a unqiue wonder but i dont think anything else needs adding

      Here is a list of DLC ideas for AOE I that does not require the introduction of Unique units, Castles or unique technologies( but just improvements and units available to a set of civilizations like that was made in Rise of Rome): 1 Ancient India that should include ; Harappans, Mauryans, Gupta and Funan. New tech and unit additions: New upgrade for the Elephant Archer line available to several civilizations, and new Technology at the Market " Mathematics" that should improve trade Carts and or the resource interchange there. New architecture style for the India civlizations
      2: Ancient Africa that should include: Aksum, Kush, Saba and Nok. New unit Additions: improvement for the Chariot archer available to some civilizations, Introduction of a thid line of Warships and an overhaul of the sea gameplay ( Sea gameplay in AOE I in its current form reduces on which player has more Trirremes basically). the new civilizations should use the Egyptian architecture style , Assyrians and Hittites should get the Mesopotamian Architechture Style from here on
      3 ancient west Europe that Should include: Gauls, Iceni, Picts and Iberians. New unit Aditions: Bronze age upgrades for the Axemen, Scout, and bowman. available to some civilizations.
      4 Return of the Middle East that Should Include: Hebrews, Sea People, Nabateans and Elam. New additions: New temple technology " sacred scriptures" that should improve Priests in some form available to some civilizations, New Bronze Age upgrade for the Slinger and new unit at siege Workshop the Ram
      5 Ancient Central Asia and the Steppes: Scythians, Xiongnu, Parthians and Armenians. At this point maybe there is no need for any major addition to the general tech tree
      6 Ancient Mesoamerica: Olmecs, Maya, Zapotecs and Teotihuacan. New additions, since these should lack cavalry and cavalry archers they should have something like the " eagle Warriors" at the Academy, Barracks or Archery range that helps to compensate for that in some way. American civilizations also should have different unit skins for their military units and priests, from Bronze age onwards. I am personally reluctant to Add american civs to AOE I because those are completely disconected from the rest, but many people still request them in forums here and there so who knows if devs would ever Add them, at Least in AOE II there is the argument of the Spanish conquest of the Americas in the early 16th Century so I personally see them more viable to add these in AOE II.
      7 Ancient Andes: Norte Chico, Mochicas, Nazca. Same issues with ancient Mesoamerica.
      As you see there is no need for Unique units or unique technologies even when proposing new DLC content for AOE I, perhaps some new additions here and there that should keep the spirit of the game while making it more interesting to play. What do you thik about these ideas for DLC?
