Just showing off a few things I picked up at Harbor Freight. I strongly recommend using the coupons they have. I saved about $160 off this purchase alone by using their coupons.
These derogatory comments indicate that I must be the only person to have a US brand fail on me on a job site....... This guy bought $10,000 of tool capacity for $500.
A lot of hate in these comments... When I first moved away from my Dad's shop I had to go buy a lot of stuff and I ended up making about a $500 HF trip too and I'm still using every single piece of it with few problems. That was 12 years ago. 21 gallon compressor, 5" or 6" bench vice (I've heard the quality on those has gone down over the years), the "standard" orange floor jack and stands, bench grinder, drop lights, etc, etc... It's all doing the job I hired it to do and figured I'd replace the stuff with higher quality items when it broke. So far, none of it has! If I could have afforded better stuff, I would have bought it, but it was either HF or nothing. I can't complain about any of it.
Maxwelhse i love harbor freight. so far the only thing that i bought that turned out to be garbage was their snap ring pliers (with different attachments).
Harbor Freight does sell some good stuff I,ve had their Impact sockets for 10 year's now and not one Issue with them yet, the Pittsburgh Pro Ratchets are great I,ve had them almost two years now no issue,s .
Harbor Freight definitely has its place. I buy things like gloves, rags, tarps and other light duty wear and tear items. I have a few of their tools that I bought for infrequent use. I wouldn't rely on their tools for something I used heavily every day.
.Pittsburgh hand tools have a lifetime, no reciept needed, as many times as you want warranty. So if those wrenches caliper. .picks....extensions break. just bring them back broken they will give you a new ones as many times as you bring it..that includes the entire tap and die set. soooooo
Looks like you have a nice selection of tools. I have a few HF mechanics tools and they haven't let me down, but I wouldn't even qualify as a weekend warrior mechanic. And a plus with HF if you break something just take it back and get it exchanged.
Great the HF screw driver are a good deal on the free coupon. I use them to make speciality tools. I agree gunsmith for myself they are good for things like making a detent and spring installer. I know there are hundreds of uses for them, and I kind of wish they had yellow handles so they stand out. The big thing is because have handles they don't get reused as bar stock for other projects. When I was younger I made m80 fireworks, the screwdrivers make good punches to form the end caps.
Tap and die sets are junk you’ll be lucky to even get one use outta the set. The Pittsburg extensions break at about 30 ft lbs and the Pittsburg torque wrenches are the worst you can get that’s why they’re so cheap
hey man, your gunna get some hate for shopping at harbor freight, but most of their tools just work. Deffinately good for starting out in small engine repair. My two tips for you are, 1. if there's a Pittsburgh PRO version, get it instead and 2. research the HF websites comments before you buy. That will let you avoid lemon designs and frequently tell you what shortcomings the tool has and how to fix them right it off the gate. Do those things and you'll be happy with HF tools for a long time.
Thank you for the tips. I've searched YT quite a bit on HF tools. Most people are happy with them, and their engines too. That's when I went there and dropped down the money for them. Thanx for watching.
Most of those items had their own coupon. The HF I went to was in Muskegon, MI. They only allowed me to get 1 free item and I was only allowed to use the 20% off coupon on 1 item (the tap and die set). The mower jack, 301 pc tool set, extension set, caliper, and the torque wrenches had their own coupon.
The ones I go to allow me to use 1 "FREE" coupon, 1 "20%-off coupon", and any amount of "item" coupons all together, but not multiple 20%-offs or multiple FREE coupons at the same time.
That caliper is absolute junk... there is a reason people spend hundreds on certain tools, like micrometers and torque wrenches, if the project is soo precise you need a micrometer or dial Guage chances are a $10 retail version of something that is typically 10-50x that won't work well
The flat ratchet wrenches I’ve had for 15 years are better are bullet proof . I built 67&81 camaro ground up restoration never broke one . From suspension motor front cap to seats love them even had cheater on them no problem
well I'll tell you for 500 bucks you would have been better off going to Lowe's or Home Depot and buying yourself a hell of a tool set Wiki start using that garbage especially your little hook and pick set there that'll been right up on you and let me know how that motor worked out for you
This is exactly why so many of today's young technicians are in fucking debt. If you look in the comments below all you see is people complaining about HF tools. There are numerous mechanics on RUclips who have listed items they've gotten from HF that have served them well in their trade. So many of these young, naive, dumb ass techs fall into the truck trap and accumulate massive amounts of debt buying tools that they could have gotten somewhere else for cheaper that will work just as well. Yes, using quality tools is important when you're using them every day, but it's totally unnecessary to buy everything at the highest price. "A poor craftsman always blames his tools."
+1970 olds442 Not? What're you in 3rd grade, or something? HF tools are mostly decent. The Pittsburgh PRO are mostly pretty damn good. The red tool boxes are great, and fucking amazing for the price. Before you go spouting off that HF is shit, why don't you tell me your exclusive with HF. Not your many years automotive experience, but your actual experience with HF tools.
throw those torque sticks away. your gonna break bolt first use and end up spending all that money you saved. after few uses the spring inside is no longer calibrated. if your gonna be repairing engines you don't wanna rely on those. I have bought most of the stuff you have there. only thing I can see worth it, is the pick set. lol. those driver bits will break really easily and the magnets will fall out.
In-line spark checker -- why, if you're too cheap to buy good tools, would you spend money on a tool you don't even need? Just use a cheap screwdriver to stick in the wire boot and hold up near a ground point....SMH.....
hay harbor freight...where you can buy Chinese tools for working on your Japanese car and then put them in your korean-made toolbox then you can contemplate why you don't have a job!
fuzzy wuzzy you are the biggest troll ive ever seen man. lmao. I've seen negative comments from you on over 20 videos. you must have way too much time on your hands.
fuzzy wuzzy Reality check. Most people don't need Snap-on, Cornwell, SK, Matco, Mac, etc. The people who buy tools from Harbor Freight are not looking to make a living with them. They are just work a day people in a workaday world trying to make it any way they can. Speaking as a retired mechanic there's no way I would compare Harbor Freight Tools to the quality tools that I mentioned. But for the four times a year that most people need them they work just fine. You can't expect somebody to spend $125 for a breaker bar from Snap-on when one from harbor freight costs only $20 AND they are trying to figure out how to buy groceries that week as well.
The tap and die set is horrific. Do yourself a favor: don't actually try to use it, ever. Because when you break a tap off, you just caused yourself a TON more work. The picks and screwdrivers are big time shit-tier, too. Those picks have zero strength to them. They will far too easily bend and break. At least they're free, because that's about all they're worth.
Yeah those picks are shit. Every time i try and pry with them they bend. I guess there's no replacement for a good pry bar. Am I Right. Cheap picks might be good for o-rings but good luck with big things like prying cv axles. Bloom, you idiot.
I hope your next video will not include your kids screaming. I am a parent as well, but we should be thinking of other people who will be watching this video

for $500 you'll get a firm handshake & screwdriver set from snap-on.
Rene Salcido
😃😅😂
Rene Salcido don't forget the free hat
Rene Salcido right
The firm hand shake is the agreement that you're sending his kid to college.
Screw driver not screwdriver set
My $500 haul would be 4 more thunderbolt magnum 100 watt solar panel kits and accessories
WE NEED A HUGE GERMAN MADE TOOL STORE!
With $500 you could of got a shiny new breaker bar and a few sockets lol
Snap-on? lol
Yup 😂
Hellsent Ⓥ that's so true
I got harbor freight tools an still getting more to have some good tools an I was thinking about working on small engines also
Makes me feel bad I get on the snap-on truck spend that on one tool lol
Tony Mullins my 1/2 torque wrench was more than that haha
Bought a small engine to replace a free broken one on a weed wacker...but going into small engine repair? Just teasing...good video.
Nice looking haul. Glad to see an upload. I miss your MRE videos.
Thank you. I'm not sure when I'll have another MRE video out. I haven't been able to afford any for quite some time.
is that why you are buying cheap shit tools?
The spring type torque wrenches are close enough. Just remember to set them at 0 when you are done to take the tension off the spring.

I use that same tap and die set. Its one of those items at harbor freight that are actually worth the money. I use it all the time in diesel service
Great the HF screw driver are a good deal on the free coupon. I use them to make speciality tools. I agree gunsmith for myself they are good for things like making a detent and spring installer. ...but where else can you bring 500 dollars and come out with a full on tool set, a lift and a f#$@ing engine?
hey hi Sir, good luck with the new work. I have heard great things about Pittsburgh pro tools
Great haul
Tap and die sets are junk you’ll be lucky to even get one use outta the set. The Pittsburg extensions break at about 30 ft lbs and the Pittsburg torque wrenches are the worst you can get that’s why they’re so cheap
With $500 invested at Harbor Freight you should be the Chairman of the Board of Directors now.
Buy the wobble head ratchets . I have snap on colbalt and Pittsburg love them

yeah man, keep cranking out the vids!
Evolution Glitch ...agree completely.
How'd you use multiple coupons? They only let you use one along with a free item coupon.

Thanks. So in one visit you are allowed to use multiple item specific coupons along with one 20% off and one free item coupon?
Yes, you should be able to.
The ones I go to allow me to use 1 "FREE" coupon, 1 "20%-off coupon", and any amount of "item" coupons all together, but not multiple 20%-offs or multiple FREE coupons at the same time.
I've met retired mechanics with 25,000 to 45000 + tools to sell but nobody wants to pay

I was waiting till his like "give me one sec" "STFU ! Y'all kids am making a video here !"
All these fucking haters saying HF sucks ho gives a shit, they have lifetime warranty they break you bring them back and get a new one.
I love the sounds of screaming children in the background
Love me some Harbor Freight! SUB?
like a kid at a candy store

James Bissey lifetime warranty
For $500 I got a snap-on screwdriver that I probably won't ever break. Because I don't have time to shut down the shop and go buy a new one. 😭
I would not say quality tools
those gloves rip too easily
The kids in the background killed it for me. Sad when you cant quiet your kids for 5 min while you make a video..smdh
got some pitsturd tools?

You'd be surprised. They've improved over the years.

Like I thought, for all your talk, you don't actually have any experience with their tools.
and all that shit will be broken in a month good for you bud you jest burned 500$ bucks.
Eric 710 wow and half has a lifetime warranty
it will cost you more than $500 in gas going back and forth all the time
1970 olds442 how did it feel applying for mortgage in order to buy that torque wrench from strapon truck?
nawzy202 rent one for free
Eric 710 I like to buy and own my tools
