I think this is a great idea. Maybe we can have a camera on it also that is more like a regular phone camera for snapping photos of license plates and even to capture scenery when we choose. Capturing the plates would not be just for legal reasons but also to capture funny vanity plates. A steering wheel mounted shutter button for that would be really nice to allow for discreet distraction free capture of images or maybe video if a different button is pressed instead. I realize that not everyone has done the things I mention but a basic idea of it is always a good start. Maybe that would inspire people who know more about implementing things to consider it or even add it to theirs and show us how they did it.
