"Albus Severus Potter, you are named after two wizards, both who were murdered right in front of me while I was still a child. In fact, from my fourth year onward, my every year at Hogwarts was filled with murder and death and it was only luck that stopped me and everyone around me from dying in my first three years. Before that I was raised by my abusive aunt and uncle who beat me and forced me to live under the stairs.
But don't worry about all that. Please, go on with your worries about how your childhood will be ruined if you're sorted into Slytherin."

DashCat9 I know, right? Such complete BS. Just because you've heard a few random words in an obscure language you probably have never tried to learn even a few words of, doesn't mean you can string together even one coherent sentence and expect anyone (even a magic gate) to understand it. And it was even in the books. Frustrating.

    • @Pokemonfox4
      @Pokemonfox4 9 лет назад +13

***** You only need to speak one word, what you say doesn't have to make sense. Theoretically if someone with no knowledge of the language would say at least one word if they whisper long enough.

    • @Ahreta
      @Ahreta 9 лет назад +43

      Pokemonfox4
I thought that one needs to say "Open" to the entrance to make it open up. That is definitely what I remember from the books, and the Harry Potter Wikia also confirms that. I mean, the gate would be pretty dysfunctional if any random hissing noise had a good chance of triggering it to open. What Ron was trying to do was essentially like knowing the letters that the language uses and trying to build random words out of them. The "monkeys banging on typewriters" analogy springs to mind.

How Voldemort should have hidden horcruxes:
    1 - Throw in ocean.
2 - Sneak into McDonalds kitchen. (It'll either end up in a random person's house or a garbage heap)
    3 - Chuck through a person's window.
    4 - Throw onto a boat.
5 - Hide in long grass.
    6 - Under a bunch of rocks.
    7 - In sewer.
BONUS - Turn a needle into a horcrux and drop in a haystack.

Crazy Jolteon Albus was a manipulative old man who kept a lot of secrets from Harry that could've helped him. Snape was an unapologetic abuser of his students simply because he couldn't get into Harry's mother's pants and then she died. Just because he went through some emotional trauma it shouldn't have affected his teaching duties.

I don't think he ever really wanted to teach, even tho he was good in that area. Slughorn's departure and him switching sides gave Dumbledore a reason to have him close. I think they planned for Harry's arrival early. And Snape's behavior had authenticity but also was staged (or exaggerated) because he would walk the finest of lines given Harry's connection to Voldemort.

Yes! The book had such a nice pay-off.
It was in the Great Hall, everybody was watching.
Before Harry killed Voldemort, he explained to him exactly why he had failed in his plan.
Then he killed him within a second. And there were all these people cheering, the first morning sunrays hit the scene... It was perfect.
I was so pissed with this movie. I'm sure it was not a bad movie at all, it was just really dissapointing to me in so many moments.
Also missing: Voldemort paralyzing Neville, placing the sorting hat on his head and putting it on fire.
Why would Bellatrix, Nagini or Voldemort crumble and fall apart when being killed?
Why would Voldemort ever use his hands to fight?

Because what about poor Moony? Harry names his kids after his dad, his godfather, his headmaster/mentor/grandfather-figure, and the fucking potions master that loved his mom?
ok i get naming a kid after snape, but you'd think the mentor/uncle?-figure/man who made you his own kid's freaking godfather! would get priority. Couldn't JK have given them a another kid named like Arthur Remus, or Rubeus Remus, or idk, Dobby Remus? Dobby Remus Potter. Has a nice ring to it actually.
Also, Lily Luna, named after his mom and... a friend that was kind of helpful? and happens to still be alive, making her the only one to be named after a living person, which is fine, there aren't really a lot of dead women in Harry's life, but she could have been Lily Nymphadora? no nvm that's sounds dumb. If we're going with living people then what it SHOULD have been was Lily Molly, or even Lily Minerva. Hell "Minerva" is a nice echo of "Ginevra" so if JK wanted to have a Lily Luna, why couldn't she make a Minerva Molly too? They could even call her "Minny"
Ok, new official canon, Harry and Ginny had five kids:
James Sirius, Albus Severus, Lily Luna, Dobby Remus and Minerva Molly.

    • @KizaruKizaru
      @KizaruKizaru 2 года назад +9

Eh not really. The room of requirement was supposed to be a room that its interior would suit the needs of the person about to enter. For example dumbledore once really needed to go to the bathroom and came across it, or in half blood prince harry and ginny really needed a room to hide the book. That room became the "lost and forgotten" room. Sure its very likely that some people dumped their old brooms there, but 3 convenient brooms conveniently placed next to them when they needed them the most? No thats just some plot device bullshit, otherwise the diadem should had been in front of harry as soon as he steps in, or like cinemasins has said multiple times why is there any conflict in the magic world when (and if) a room like that exists?

The sword isn't magic, okay it is enchanted to be able to appear out of nowhere, but it is not stronger or better than any other muggle-sword. "The question of why a wizard would need a sword, though often asked, is easily answered. In the days before the International Statute of Secrecy, when wizards mingled freely with Muggles, they would use swords to defend themselves just as often as wands. Indeed, it was considered unsporting to use a wand against a Muggle sword (which is not to say it was never done). Many gifted wizards were also accomplished duellists in the conventional sense, Gryffindor among them."

Not to be that person that's like "WELL IN THE BOOK", but once people realize that Voldemort is coming to Hogwarts all the students are woken up and gather at their house tables in the Great Hall. Professor McGonagall makes an announcement about evacuations and about staying, if you're of age, to fight against the Death Eaters and Voldemort. So most of the students evacuate but there are still groups that stay behind from gryffindor, hufflepuff, and ravenclaw because they're old enough. BUT. THE ENTIRE SLYTHERIN TABLE IS ABANDONED. So I totally get how you're saying that she should have given some Slytherins the chance to prove that not all of them are bad, but all of them were bad or taught that they were bad because THEY ALL LEFT to go join the death eaters or their parents to be on the bad side lol.

-Dumbledore said that there was no spell or enchantment to bring people (or anything, for that matter) back to life.
-The sword is impregnated with Basilisk venom, making it a powerful weapon. Need I explain further?
-You can still USE wands from others, but the magic won't be as powerful.
-The dragon is blind and couldn't feel them.
-They said You-Know-Who because the word 'Voldemort' was cursed so that Death Eaters would find you when you say it.
-SLYTHERIN IS NOT FUCKING EVIL. IT'S THE HOUSE OF AMBITION AND CUNNING. NOT EVIL.
-Ron copied what Harry said for the locket to open.
-The Elder Wand worked like a normal wand. If he unlocked its full power, then it would be THE most powerful wand in history.
-In the book, both Harry and Lily's eyes were green and almond-shaped. Fuck movies for changing appearances, eh?
-YOU SAYIN' DAT NAGINI AIN'T LIVIN'? * ahem * Are you saying that Nagini wasn't living? SNAKES ARE LIVING, SENTIENT BEINGS THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Horcruxes usually aren't assigned to living things because they're very hard to... Well, you know.
-It's 'the power of love' or some sloppy cliche thing like that which saved Harry. Not a fucking spell.

(I didn't read the book). I would argue that it was a matter of priorities. Snape cared about Lily. As far as he's concerned, Harry (or everything else) was not important. Some people just don't care to get involved. Just 2 months ago, there was a security footage of 2 old women (60ish) being attacked with a cinder block at their own liquor store. And you can see a customer sneaking away while the women were being attacked. That was not the first time something like that happens. And it won't be the last. Some people just don't care enough to get involved. Now that I think about it. It's also possible that Snape didn't want people to know he helps. He was a part of Voldermort's posse. He can't let it get out that he helped Harry. ruclips.net/video/5NiGW3-xBwI/видео.html

I love you cinema sins, but your harry potter sins videos really irritate me because a lot of the sins you give are for things that have been explained in previous movies. For example, it's been explained that you can't use magic to bring people from the dead (as to why they couldn't bring dobby back) - this isn't the vampire diaries - and that you can't use the Imperius curse willy nilly because it's an Unforgivable Curse, as explained in goblet of fire. Check the canon first please

Tesslyn Francis The problem is -- and the reason the sin was given -- is that the rules are never properly explained or justified. Rules will just pop up and vanish when the plot needs them to. One moment you can do X, the next you can only do X if you Y. Why? No reason. Just because. Unforgivable Curse? You can use it this time. Why? Because you really want to. Instant transportation across the world like you did last time? Nah. Why? Tension! Magic that causes instant death? Sure. Magic that reverses that? Nah. Why? Just because.

Matilda Persson Maybe of you're confused about it cause you haven't read the books. The laws on magic are well fleshed out in the books. To clarify though: Harry couldn't use an unforgivable curse any other time because it's illegal. In this movie, he was already on the run in any case so why not use an unforgivable curse. In your defence though, the movies are very unclear. If they had followed the books, you'd be a bit more clear on the lore

Let's list all sins that wouldn't be sins in the books because there they were explained? Sure, why not? *I know CinemaSins doesn't care about books and I agree those things were problems in the movies, just pointing out how much better explained the books are*:
*Sin 12*: Pretending to put the sword in the vault was Snape and Dumbledore's idea, not Voldemort's; Bellatrix didn't give a damn about the sword, but she did care about the mysterious object that Voldemort had explicitly told her to protect with her life.
*Sin 13*: Harry used Hermione's, to a very poor effect (couldn't control spell intensity, some spells would just not happen or do their opposite effect etc.), which kinda explains why people don't use other people's wands if given a choice; meanwhile, in between the second and third book, Ron *did* get a new wand when his broke, one that just so happened to be much better for him because it actually chose him instead of being a hand-me-down from his brother like his original; as for needing wands, it's explained that it just helps casting magic a lot.
*Sin 19*: They present the wand in the books, and it doesn't work out at all: in the time it took them to get the plan ready Bellatrix had already made it known that her wand had been stolen and she was using a new one, so Harry had to use the Imperio Curse to fix that fuckup; apparently in the movie they made them a little smarter and made them realize that people might know they robbed a famous house a month ago.
*Sin 20*: In the books it's shown that he doesn't, that's why the spell breaking waterfall was even activated in the first place: he let them walk in the bank and went to call for security, since it would be theoretically easier to catch them in there but well, dragon.
*Sin 21*: Harry had been shown to struggle with the idea of using an Unforgivable Curse, even for good ends; the only time prior to this one he had used one was when he failed to torture and kill Bellatrix when she killed Sirius, and he only used the Imperio here as a last ditch effort (although the movie's change from the last sin made it look like it was his plan all along, which makes things lose all sense)
*Sin 26*: The last defense wasn't the Gemino curse, but the Flagrate one, and the door's automatic shutdown: instead of things multiplying, things were multiplying, the clones were boiling hot and the door was closed behind you, so you'd quickly be smashed by a huge wave of burning hot things; it would have been pretty fatal if not for the goblin they had to re-open the door.
*Sin 27*: In the books he realizes it would be physically impossible to climb a pile that is triplicating it's size every second you spend climbing it, and just has Hermione or Ron (can't remember which) levitate him so he can grab the horcrux. Remember kids, it's Levi*o*sa, not Liviosaaa.
*Sin 28*: The protection against stuff like Accio, apparating, and stuff like that is already a part of the whole Bank of Gringots; the murdery ones were covered by the mentioned crushing and burning spells.
*Sin 29*: As I just said above, in the books Apparating in Gringots is physically impossible, same like in Hogwarts.
*Sin 31*: The key word is "little" just before humans: the scale that is given to that dragon in the books makes it sound more like they were 3 mosquitoes landed on a human than 3 people sitting on the back of an elephant. In the books the dragon didn't even notice there was somebody on him.
*Sin 35*: Saying "Voldemort" by this time triggered a spell made in the MM that immediately revealed the person's who'd say it location and break any protective spells around them, which was exactly how they got caught and brought to Malfoy Manor in the books.
*Sin 37*: In the books there is an overwhelming feeling of desperation by the trio because they don't see any of their plans as successes: the plan never goes right, but they just fix everything quickly on spot (for example, the Gringots plan was to get the Horcrux and leave through the front door like if nothing had happened, not blasting through the ceiling on a dragon), which is why Harry finally has enough and goes "we always plan and then nothing happens as we expected and we have to just deal with shit, so why don't we cut the bullshit, go there just with our wits and deal with shit already?"
*Sin 38*: They use a spell to dry the clothes, which is smart and makes sense in a magic world, but denies male loving audience some Daniel and Rupert action; on the other hand, it doesn't leave female loving audience longing for some Emma undressing, so you know, balance?
*Sin 43*: It wasn't the painting who dug the tunnel, but the Room of Requirement. The room's powers are underused because of the weird way it works, which Neville spent his 7th year decoding and getting used to, which is why *he* was able to use it to a far greater extent than anyone else, doing stuff like making it dig a tunnel to Hogsmead.
*Sin 44*: The room works like a separate dimension, which is why you can hold a Metallica concert in there and people pressing their ears against the wall wouldn't hear a whisper.
*Sin 53*: Hogwarts never needed protection ._.
*Sin 59*: Riddle didn't approach the Grey Lady asking to destroy the Diadem, instead he used his sexy charm with her until she felt like he was a friend, at which point she gave him the Diadem because she thought it would help him.
*Sin 62*: Ron says in the books that he wanted Hermione to kill that Horcrux because it was only fair: she was basically the single reason they were still alive, and she still hadn't got to kill a Horcrux. It's sorta fair.
*Sin 65*: They have, for example the curse Peter uses when he is incriminating Sirius, which kills a lot of people at once; it's just that nobody ever went through the trouble of perfecting it into a formal spell, meaning that anyone who wants to use that would pretty much need to come up with a spell on his own, which not everyone has the brains for.
*Sin 74*: In the books either Crabbe or Goyle are too dull to remember that Voldemort wants Harry alive, and so they do try using killing curses, which makes Ron go berserk.
*Sin 78*: The moment the doors lock the room, altogether with everything else in it, stop existing immediately. Woe to the poor fucker who next tries to use the hiding storage version of the Room.
*Sin 82*: Voldemort went in too deep into Harry's mind and found out that doing that brought his conscience dangerously close to Lilly's protective curse, which almost killed him and hurt like the motherfucking hell; Harry only felt a small bit of the pain through the connection and it was strong enough for him to beg for death, just to stop it. After that happened in Book 5, Voldemort got way too scared of using his connection with Harry, afraid that if he kept messing with the link Harry could possibly trigger that reaction again, so he started protecting his mind from Harry's, effectively shutting the connection, except for moments when Voldemort felt such intense emotions that his Occlumency control would slip.
*Sin 83*: Actually, that's pretty much it: they really don't have any spells against giants xD Sure, some 40 people casting Avada Kedavra at once might make one faint or maybe even die if you're luck, but they are just 3.
*Sin 87*: Voldemort was experiencing the same problems with the Elder Wand Harry did with Hermione's. Sure, 9 out of 10 spells might come out almost as they were meant to, but the moment you are in a duel and one of your spells simply decides not to come out, you'd be dead. You don't bring a rifle filled with random blanks and real bullets to a war, and you don't bring a non-obeying wand to a wizard war.
*Sin 88*: He didn't kill Snape, he used a weaker curse to immobilize him and had Nagini do it, which is proof enough of how scared he was of going into battle without conquering the wand: he didn't trust it to kill Snape, instead using a far easier spell that had a much smaller chance of backfiring.
*Sin 91*: Voldemort gave him and ultimatum and a time limit, so he wandered around while there was still time.
*Sin 95*: In the books both of them had green eyes; why the fuck the films didn't do the minimum effort of at the very least casting a girl with blue eyes to match Danniel's (since he was allergic to contacts) is beyond me.
*Sin 97*: Better safe than sorry. It's not like that was his whole plan, murdering Harry was just another thing on his bucket list. If the prophecy was wrong, who gives a fuck, 3 more bodies to the toll; if it was right, yay?

    • @mordirit8727
      @mordirit8727 8 лет назад +48

      *continuing*
*Sin 99*: So that Harry wouldn't kill himself to break the Horcrux before finding and killing the other Horcruxes. Dumbledore was a dick to Harrys.
*Sin 100*: Dumbledore gave Snape a signal to watch for: when Voldemort suddenly became paranoid about Nagini's safety, since he figured out this would only happen when Voldemort realized his other Horcruxes were being hunted. Snape didn't have things set up because he only realized Voldemort was showing the sign he should look for when he arrived at the cottage, at which point it was too late for him to do anything.
*Sin 101*: the Horcrux making spell is done before, not after. You have to set it up so you can capture your soul piece when it breaks off. Voldemort's soul was ready to become an Horcrux, but suddenly the main part of his soul was gone and it didn't have any way to channel into an object, so it latched on to Harry; also, about every Horcrux being an inanimate object, Nagini.
*Sin 102*: The spell Lilly "used" literally required human spontaneous sacrifice, it would be impossible to recreate before the battle; Harry eventually casts the same spell when he gives his life, which is why nobody else dies in the battle after Voldemort kills him.
*Sin 104*: It actually does; in the 6th book the power of female boners had already turned Tonk's patronus into a Werewolf =p it sorta makes sense since so many people associate their significant others with a feeling of happiness and safety, and that is literally the emotions the patronuses are made out of. Which means it's utter bullshit Harry's being a stag, since it was one way before he knew his father could metamorph into one but hey, we're not sinning the Prisoner of Azkaban here!
*Sin 105*: It took so long because of their caution: in the books Snape is only able to do that because, after months running around, Hermione finally gets a bit careless and lets slip the place where they are, which the Sirus' Great Grandpa's portrait (loooong story) hears and snitches to Snape.
*Sin 114*: for some reason, the movies forgot that Harry should have been using the Invisibility Cloak at this point; the worst thing is, even though it may seem like an insignificant plot change, it's not: the fact that Harry had the Cloak and the Stone with him when he died and was the owner of the Wand by right of conquest is *the whole reason why he is able to come back from the dead in the first place*. Shame on you, movie. Shame!
*Sin 120*: it's implied that they don't, but God is still racist in that universe because he allows wizards to come back as ghosts if they want to, and not muggles; although to be fair, becoming a ghost is sort of a horrible deal that most ghosts deeply regret because it's a miserable and eternal experience with no chance of escape, so HP God is justa dick to everybody!
*Sin 122*: Harry is literally Master of Death at this point. He could have the souls of every woman who was ever top dancer at the Moulin Rouge show up and do a cancan for him if he so damn wanted; instead the thing he desired the most was confronting Dumbledore and asking him what the fuck was up with that sadistic plan. Priorities.
      *Sin 126*:
First, that Limbo isn't somewhere Harry was put for being special, it's been established since Book 5 that all dead wizards go there, where they chose between dying or becoming ghosts.
Second, as I said before, the books have the whole Master of Death subplot going on at this moment, which makes for a great "whattafuuuuck" moment a chapter later when Harry lays down the word on why the Elder Wand belongs to him and not to Voldemort, which makes the book version of that scene immediately make sense with the built universe.
*Sin 129*: Not when he is freaking out and confused about having just fainted, he can't.
*Sin 137*: Even if he did, it wouldn't have worked anyway; can't kill the Master of Death who has just gotten a *Second* sacrificial protecting charm with *his own wand*. When you go back and reread this chapter, it's kinda impressive how Harry was not in any form of danger at all during this battle, the literal reason Voldemort could kill him in the first attempt was because Harry wanted him to.
*Sin 140*: thank god that stream crossing BS only happens once in the books, never to be heard again. Movies were addicted to Dragon Ball ¬¬
*Sin 146*: all that climatic battle between Harry and Voldemort, thank god, never happens in the book either; Harry and Voldemort are separated by the fighting crowd when Neville kills Nagini (which also happens when Voldemort brings Harry's body, not later for no reason) and only end up face to face much later, to a duel that literally lasts 1 spell, and Voldemort at least uses the proper one.
*Sin 153*: those two were really close friends throughout the books, since they were both loners under constant bullying they kinda gravitated together; and seriously, after becoming the veteran of the war who stood ground against death eaters for a whole year and being the guy who cut off Voldemort's snake's head with a goddamned sword, it's a sin that she was even still wearing clothes in this scene. Neville is the Sam of Harry Potter.
*Sin 154*: even if Voldemort hadn't been strong enough to still force the wand to perform ok magic without belonging to him, it would still have been able to kill Harry because it would be obeying his real master. Again, Harry only died in the forest because he wanted to.
Well this was a fun waste of time =)

And all those sins about not saying the spell or not using a wand: wands are just instruments to make it easier to use magic and they are used to perform more powerful spells. Wizards among the Native Americans never used wands until the colonial time. So wizards who are trained without wands, or very powerful wizards doesn't need wands for easy spells. And for the unpronounced spell thing, just read the sixth book.

Can just say how fucking PISSED I am at how they cut down the battle between Molly and Bellatrix? Like, I get time constraints and all. But in the books, these two witches fought so fiercely that the ground cracked! It was huge and epic and dramatic and it showcased not only Bellatrix as Voldemort's best fighter (which she was), but Molly as the absolute, badass powerhouse that I had been waiting to see for all seven books! And they cut it down to THIS little, thirty-second bit. Not to mention all of the other awesome bits from the Battle of Hogwarts that they left out... Your cinema sins are so awful. They can’t put the “spell” that lily cast on Harry in every person at Hogwarts because it wasn’t a spell. She tapped into old magic by showing true love and sacrificing herself for Harry. Voldemort was going to leave Lily alive for Snape, but when Voldemort went to kill Harry, she jumped in between Harry and the killing curse. Only an extremely powerful witch or wizard could do tap into that old magic, not just anyone, and they must sacrifice themselves in order to do it.

Also I think it would need to be somewhere secret as people would 'feel' the evil prescience. And lastly, it needs to be a powerful object to maintain the soul part. The diary, harry, and nagini are the only ones that aren't really and I that can probably be explained away with emotional magic(put his feelings in the diary, love/hate in making harry, something something snakes for nagini)

Straight F1ush and NoName I know he didn't die - but the basilisk venom is something that can destroy a Horcrux, and with it, the vessel. It's an instantaneous thing too - everything else stabbed with the basilisk venom - Riddle's diary, the locket destroyed with the venom-impregnated Sword or Gryffindor, and the cup - was destroyed instantly. Harry received a wound from the basilisk fang but neither he nor the Horcrux was destroyed. Fawkes saved Harry but the Horcrux within him should have been instantly destroyed at the very least. As Chocolate TaeKookie says, it's a major plot hole. Along with so many others, like Hermione claiming to have never previously used the Obliviate spell despite having recently used it on her parents. Still, the movies were great and the books were even better.
