Something I realized a bit later than I should have, it's only called "Swim Form" because you can play as either a Squid or an Octopus in Splatoon 3, and saying "Squid (or Octopus) Form" isn't as neatly condensed as "Swim Form"

something I always did in levels (especially boss levels) is I'd ink the entire starting room to get my special gauge up, and depending on your upgrades it can get you about halfway full. inking the second platform almost always netted me a full charge, no funky respawn tricks required, lol

You don't need to use ANY squid forms on the first level shown here. you showed that using the geyser trick you were able to get on top of one of the vaults, meaning that you only need two keys to complete the level and don't have to get the 3rd squid form required key.
He still needs to bring a key to the third vault to unlock it, though, and since that means he has to get past the second vault with a key intact, he still has to unlock the second vault as vaults open automatically.

These remind me of a mario odyssey speedrun category which is played by using the hat the least amount of times. Ive always loved seeing how players always find a way to reduce the number more and more throughout the years. Squidless should totally be a speedrun category!! Id love to see people find ways to skip some squids and see the final number

For "Switching Things Up", would it be possible to catch a ride on the top block as you activate its switch to skip swimming up the walls? Or alternately, to ride on one of the other blocks in some way that would save at least one of the swim forms? edit: ok i tried it myself, 0's almost definitely impossible (the top block is the very first one which seems impossible to reach) but i still feel like there might be some clever workaround to do it in 1 edit 2: i'm leaning toward it not being possible now since there seems to be no way to ink switches without leaving swim form, even if you have the wall around them inked, and i'm pretty sure you can't partially ink these ones either. all of my ideas fall short, i'll stop trying now for my sanity's sake
I am probably just sticking to minimum squids for the splatoon games since other people are doing the nuzlockes, and minimum jumps. Good suggestion though!

Maybe mod your game to add all weapons and their kits to story mode. and see which weapon is MVP of min squids (zipcaster banned in non zipcaster levels). and also maybe minimum upgrade points, the thing other than sardinum for upgrades for hero gear. it would be a challenge but fun to watch! and maybe also do lol.
I had the idea of doing this (the salmon run one) before splatoon 3 came out, but I don't know if anyone else would want to help me since it's such an insane task
U should have 50k at least by now! Also maybe try a version with each weapon from regular multiplayer, and its kits coz i think u could maybe do something to skip some jumps like that. Edit i meant squids not jumps lol

just did a short bit of research. You can delay the time the checkpoint activates by collecting power eggs

you only get a select option for weapons to use, so I don't think anything would really help weapon-wise.
