Why you can stream them but the one thing they're not going to do is if you bought a whole bunch of games on PS3 digitally you will not be able to play them on the PS5 probably

I would like to replay Blur for my gaming parties because it was a super blast to play that game, and it played like Mario Kart with all of the power-ups. It featured a 4-player slip screen option, and it still looks great as a racing game.
It would be nice if Sony brought back all the digital PS3 games I previously owned that were removed. Most of which I got while subscribed to PS+. I'm 46, and I still have disks of my favorite PS3 games. It was the best console for couch co-op, which I miss. Would love to have my PS5 be able to play them.

As an owner of current gen consoles and pc, I don't understand Sony cats and the exclusivity angle. The more systems a game is on, the more likely the game is to sell. The entire lock it to a single system to drive sales of that system seems really limiting. Just saying...

They said it twice...the literal MINIMUM of repetition. I would just naturally assume they are distinguishing geographical locale from genealogy & that repetition is (rather obviously) to do so. Emulation of PS3 games is great, but if button mapping isn't right and I can't remap buttons within a game then it's not playable on the PS5. Some games load fine but can't be played with the Dual Sense Controller
So glad I didn’t build a ps3 library. I would be out of luck playing them right now. However I have a ps4 library of games that will play on my ps5 so it’s good I started my collection during last gen and not the one before.

@Blinker485 That seems kinda high. I see them all the time on Facebook Marketplace for 60-100, sometimes with controllers and games. Bought a 320GB PS3, with 2 Dualshock 3's and a stack of games for 75. To be fair, she dodnt seem to know much about games, probably was her son's, probably moved out and left it there. One of the controllers is pretty beat up, but for that price I'm not about to complain. I believe there were 18 games, but what blew my mind was they were all hit games, like GOW 1-3, all the Killzones, all the Uncharteds, etc.

They should keep the disk and keep it compatible. If they're gonna use the PlayStation, 3 emulator. Just like back in nostalgia. Fisher, key the disk a little cheaper this time. Since digital is becoming expensive
All I'm playing these days are PS2 games on a Steam Deck. We got all this power but yet I'm going back to old games that actually feel fun and innovative.
To be honest they’ve been working with Sony for like a decade sense helldivers 1 arrowhead acquisition could be possible, but I kind of feel like their relationship kinda got a little hurt considering the PSN controversy but arrowhead technically did knew they were gonna have to put that in the game in some reason delay that for three months because They had issues when the game launch
Over 50 and I would love to be able to play well emulated PS1, P2S, and PS3 games on PS5 Pro. I don't even care if the discs work but that would be a nice bonus. I'd re-buy all those old games I want to play because it takes money and time for Sony to make all this happen and they should be rewarded for that if it happens (not anywhere near full price though). The PS streaming situation with the massive input lag is a complete failure IMO. I can't use it for most old games I want to play. And I can't stream old Gran Turismo versions anyways, they're not available, but if they were - the input lag would wreck the experience. A lot of vintage games seemed to rely on fun and interesting gameplay more than flashy gfx. GFX aren't as good but the gameplay is usually more "thought-out" in clever and interesting ways that make them more fun to play for me. Grand Turismo 1 through 4 is a prime example of this. The single player campaigns are head and shoulders above GT5 through GT7. My PS2 and PS3 still work, and still hooked up to my home theater but on modern displays, but it looks pretty bad. I know there are emulators for PC, but that's a pain. I'll eventually try that too though.
I wish I could enter a code from one of my PS3 discs or disc cases and get a digital copy of the game… they already have my money. Anything to avoid easy goodwill with your customers I guess.

No, game companies should not stick around. It's the nature of the business. You spin up a studio and build and game. That game comes to an end and the studio dissolves. It would be nice if a studio could be multi-talented in that they can take on more than one game. But in reality it doesn't work that way. The industry needs to become MORE flexible. Some how create a secondary industry. maybe testing, so that when studios form they can pull talent, and when they dissolve the talent has a place to go.
