Like my XP so far. Had it a couple years now. Use it for swim baits mostly. Changed out the combat grips to the round style Win grips. I'm a sucker for those grips for some reason. Love 'em.
Little late to this video but I do bass fishing in New England. I don’t have to cast too far to reach where I need to fish and the max weight of the fish are 7lbs if I’m really lucky. Do you recommend a medium or medium heavy rod with the bait caster?
I personally prefer a medium heavy rod with my baitcasters. On spinning reels medium is really nice it want to get more finesse with them. Thanks watching!
I just got one and so far it’s backlash city mid cast I guess it came broken when I ordered it from bass pro I’ve noticed a weird noise almost like the gears grinding
Nice review, my friend. I was interested to hear someone else's take on the Custom XP. Picked mine up on sale about a year ago and I do like it, but I don't love it. Once you compare it to other Lew's reels like you did here (In my case, The Mach CRUSH and Pro SP reels) you start to understand why price matters. Haha. Out of curiosity, do you ever experience what feels like slipping with yours? Like with anything over 3 lbs. Even with the drag tight. Thank you!

That is a good idea. I need to check that out. I agree it’s been an awesome so far. Thanks for watching!
How did you change them?
Thanks for the revew, i was looking at some good combos in my price range and so far this one is the best
Thank you! I definitely enjoying mine! Let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching!
I've just bought my XP 7' 4" MH and broke it in the same day on a Senko. Smooth and can cast a country mile.
Nice choice! I hope you enjoy it. I’ve really have enjoyed mine. Thanks for watching! 🎣
I just picked mine at cabelas and can’t wait to try it out this weekend! I have a spinning rod although it cost me 130$
Awesome….Let me know what you think about it! Thanks for watching!
I just got one of these from cabelas I love this combo
Yes I agree! It’s one of my favorite setups. Definitely a great buy if you can catch them on sale. Thanks for watching!

Hmmmm. That’s interesting. May need to see if you can get a warranty claim on it. That don’t sound good. Mine has been great. No complaints.
What did you set the interbal breaks too?
I run mine from 2 to 7 depending on the situations.
Does the xp have a drag clicker ? Audible drag ?
Yes it does have clicks on the drag setting.
@@simplesouthernoutdoors what about when line is coming off drag
New to baitcaster. Just want to know before buying. Thanks
Not a clicking sound on drag like a spinning reel. Not that I’ve have noticed. How that helps. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I’ve only had mine for a couple weeks. Biggest I’ve caught on it was around 4 pounds. I will be looking for that in the future.
@@simplesouthernoutdoors Right on, brother. Thanks for the reply.
