Never played guitar in my life. I have boughten several, lol. I’m always amazed at not only the skill in the finger work but the ear. I play great air guitar. Sounds like the real thing🤪. I’m very jealous….Oh man , the women I’d have following me. . I’d be the American pied piper of Hamelin . Anyway I do not play but I love music , I love learning and I love the easiness in your voice so I will subscribe and watch! Well done and thank you . Sometimes you watch a video and think “there’s part of my life I’ll never get back” this is Not one of those videos. Awesome skills
Hello HP, what a fabulous lesson you put on, not to difficult to play but the way you play it is amazing, you are a great guitarist and we appreciate your time putting these video's on. Thank you.
I had to watch twice before i understood you were saying "the let-ring effect." I thought you were trying to say "layering effect," lol. I understand what you're saying, what you're emphasizing, but maybe we need to come up with a better name? "Sustained bass notes" maybe? IDK. Great licks! Good sound! 👍 👌
CHAPEAU! wiedermal ein sehr hilfreiches Tutorial was mich erweitert hat. Ich Danke Dir für die hohe Qualität. um min' 3 es macht Hammer spaß Dir zuzuhören.
Great job! Long before the roto sound that's almost disco in a good way there was the lil ol band from Texas. A smokey gritty dust yourself off from a trail ride as you swagger the into the border cantina kind of sound. Tough music for tough guys who need to blow off steam after a hard day's work. Even though the sound became more urban they never compromised the attitude and swagger. One of my favorite bands of all time.
Just curious... Does HP Crazy have any relation to "HP Indicates G-Force Automatic Tuners" as referenced to Gibson Les Paul models. Got that from Reverb. In some respects the instrument or it's condition is of little consequence but since I can't play mine anyway, I kinda obsess over trivia like that. Thanks for what you do for us! Rock on! 🤓
Hey John, a student of mine once had that automatic tuner on a Les Paul - it works but it's not such a relilable system as one might think. My student removed it after a few months.
Hi HP, have a question, when you play the doubles stops in the C chord at fret 8, what's happens with the E note? That's part of the C chord also? The double stop riff is being played as if it's in C minor? Thanks
@@Hpcrazy Hi HP, Thankyou for your reply, sorry for any confusion but I was actually referring to why isn't the E note on the G string fret 9 not being played in the pentatonic when it should be as song is in C major key? As you know in music theory if it's C major key then the pentatonic is either C major or A minor pentatonic. But what's actually happening in this song is that even though its in the key of C major the pentatonic that is used in this song is C minor pentatonic that's my point and it seems to work lol! Thankyou
@@rajeshgumber363 I see - yes in the solo of Sharp Dressed Man he is in fact using the E together with the G as double stop. So he is seing the C as a blues C7 chord which works as you already found out.
Ironic and sad timing to this nice lesson, HP. I'd imagine ZZ Top will continue as I've learned another bassist has been filling in for Dusty Hill recently but it won't be the same Texas band! Jim C.

Merci from a Francophile in New Mexico who grew up in Texas with ZZ Top. Merci mon ami.
great tutorials , thanks
Great lesson and explanation of the style of ZZ Top - thanks!!
Billy has a killer tone. The best in my opinion.
I also love his tone.
Even Mark Knopfler was looking for that sound for the Money for Nothing riff. It's such a rich greedy sound.

Way cool. Billy Gibbons is a great blues player of the Texas variety. Great stuff
Indeed - typical roadhouse blues stuff - at least the old recordings.
Billy gibins rocks
Excelente lección. Muchas gracias maestro.
denada :-)
Cool lesson HP!!!!

Hey Jeff, thanks - thats exactly how the old sound soundes like.I did not like the newer disco stuff so much - but it still was ZZ Top.
Hey HP it was me a few weeks ago 😃 thank you so much for this it's really appreciated 🇬🇧🇨🇭🎸🤘👍
Hey Christopher, yeah I thought this would be a great add for the channel. Thanks for the suggestion.
What color guitar is that?...it looks awesome
It's called " Pink Burst " :-D
Waiting on the bus music lesson

Hey Rajesh, you hold the low E-string if played as long as possible. Thats the hard part of Billy Gibbons playing style.

Gibbons barely moves his left hand. He stays put on the fretboard. You can play all that lower on the fretboard.
Meeega👍👍👍👍
Danke Dir 🙂

Hey Jim, yes I heard about Dusty Hill - nearly a coincidence that I finally did the ZZ Top tutorial now.
No tab on video? Thumbs down
