Just built one. Agree with the steering end points. I used a low profile Servo and had no hitting issues at all. I recall using one pf those servos in another built and found them to be taller. I Swapped out the plastic bushings in the steering and diffs for bearings which I think was an oversight for Kyosho considering they gave you ball bearings elsewhere. I had to grind the washer off the servo mount to avoid hitting the drive shaft. Saw that tip off a few other people’s videos
I missed this one, glad you got one already. I had not pre-ordered this one so not sure if I am going to be able to get one or not right away. It looks great and I am sure it will be a blast to drive. I do prefer the rear cab buggies. The cab forward ones look too spaceship and boxy to me usually. Hi. Greetings from me, Patrick. I would like to confirm the gears on this Kyosho Lazer Dirt Cross SB are made of metals, and not plastic gears, right ?
I have been racing the dirtmaster this year , I am terrible , and it’s way to quick on a 10t brushless , but that has taken some big hits and has taken them really well , minor damage on the rear hinge pin holders and that’s it , and on a good day can take on the newer buggy’s , so this dirt cross should be a great way to get into 4x4 racing with out spending double the price
I guess the main issue here is that at that price, and with those capabilities, I'd start looking at a Associated or Xray, if I actually would want a non-vintage buggy that's actually racable, these inbetween models are perhaps in an odd place. It's just a couple hundred more for an actual racebuggy.
I think these buggies have a market. They're not full-on race spec, but have race-spec characteristics. Lower price point than a race buggy, but more plastic. Personally, I love 'em! I'm not much of a racer, so it's nice to get a buggy that can handle well and drive it around, not worrying about beating up a $500 race rig. 😉
Seeing this I would go racing again, as I prefer my trucks, buggies and road vehicles I broke my teeth on two wheel drive then to 4X4 but gas 5th scale, then dabbled in the lesser scaled sticking to two wheel drive especialy as you mentioned that they do atwo wheel drive. Never bothered before as the only real scale was Tamiya, so could I race this or the 2WD buggy as I would love to get back into racing and due to an back injury hauling around 5th gas is not possibly. I was going to buy the Tamiya BBS I beleive it was called and try to race against the latest and greatest competition buggies I would get a kick doing so and being competitive as I was with my FG Marder & MCD 4X4 Chevrolet Baja 1000 truck against the few expensive and totally a winning buggies. I could see myself with two wheel and four wheel drive buggies as I dabble a bit with Shortcourse truck and also the Associated buggy many moons ago as it is not a very popular format in the UK, and 5th gas is also not as popular as it was, a shame as I have half a dozen trucks and buggies also 6 & 7th scale electric trucks. Whoops must stop rambling you can tell I have too much time on my hands now retired but at least I have time to indulge my hobbies lol, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the great message. It's always nice to hear viewers' back stories. I did a full video series on the BBX last year, if you're thinking of getting one, give a watch through my BBX Playlist, I'm sure you'll like it.
It's the best buggy Tamiya has produced in a VERY long time, IMO.
The Dirt Cross is a great bang for the buck buggy. You could definitely race this platform and have a lot of fun. 👍🏻
New tee, Fil?
Which one? The Poor Boys? That's actually an older logo design I came up with. 😁
@@poorboysrc I seeee. The neons are the new ones then.
@christianrambissoon1141 that's right. The super-80's logo is the new one. My first one was the gray circle, then I added the wave logo, then the "Miami Vice" logo. 😅
It has big bore plastic shocks.
@@bradkalman2353 sure does, Brad! 👍🏻
Dont eat your micro please. Half way it has a bathtub sound
Hahaha, I won't, I promise. I think the battery died in my wireless mic, so I was recording audio from my phone. 🤦♂️
