@@themovieranker surprisingly I can find some things I like a out most of these even TNG seeing its the worse. Super happy To see TCM 3 get some love above the rest. I'd have TCM 3D a bit higher but I can agree with your list overall

I liked the first one the most, I like two quite a bit and three quite a bit, after that I have personally found them to be shit, the newest one has the most stupid group of character's in the whole entire franchise in my opinion.

Now that's the most interesting Texas chainsaw ranking I've ever seen. The remake in last, and the beginning in first. Hats off to you for this very unique take

Great list, all though I would have part 3 much higher. It's got a great Leatherface, ken foree, dude from lord of the rings, sadistic family, very little humor and saw is family. I just find it so rewatchable compared to most the other entries

Basically I like the remake and all the movies that came out after that
yeah you would think that part 4 would at least be a fun watch but it wasn't at all (for me). Better off just watching Matthew going crazy on youtube instead of watching the whole film lol

9: TCM: The Next Generation (wtf was this???)
8. 2022 reboot/requel whatever the heck it's supposed to be, it was bad
7. Leatherface (2017) super sick and not in a good way
6. Part II (just stupid, the horror comedy thing was just a complete misfire)
5. TCM 3D (made no sense, terrible acting, good concept just executed terribly, Scott Eastwood was nice to look at 😍)
4. Leatherface: TCM PART III (felt more like House of 1000 Corpses for some reason, I hated the acting except for Viggo Mortenson)
3. TCM the beginning: (cool prequel but not great)
2. Original 1974 (good movie, classic but over the years, I realized how boring it is until we get to the scene where Sally is pushing Franklin while they're looking for Jerry and Leatherface comes outta nowhere, great scare)
1. 2003 remake (one of my favorite horror remakes, Jessica Biel is a great final girl, R. Lee Ermey was scarier than Leatherface, speaking of, best Leatherface in the whole franchise, he was very menacing)
Great list!!! A messy franchise indeed, I admit to not even being a superfan of the original, it's an ok decent horror watch to me. I also admit to laughing a LOT at Next Generation but it is certainly not a good film. It's one of those franchises where I take each film as one separate stand alone. I DO love a few of them on their own, that being Part 2, The Beginning, Leatherface and the 2003 remake. The latest one, that abomination from Netflix is number 2 on my top 10 worst horror of 2022 list. Which I'll film both worst and best lists, as soon as my frakking Smile and Halloween Ends blurays gets here since they weren't released until a week ago on physical..lol.
Yeah the 2022 wasn't good at all. These films definitely aren't consistent in quality or tone lol

Unpopular opinion: The Next Generation is the most entertaining. You have to laugh with it to enjoy it, but I classify it as a spoof remake of the original.

There is zero continuity in these films, like the Halloween franchise. The first two are by far the best, Tobe Hooper RIP
I could never get into part 2 but I respect your picks. The original is by far the best
This is the only franchise that should've never become a franchise. If you guys like some of the Sequels, that's great, but Hollywood has never made a GOOD Texas Chainsaw Massacre Sequel, part 2 felt like a parody of the Original which should've been done away from the Original kinda like Scary Movie, part 3 was meh, the Next Generation was a crappy mess, TXCS3D was mind insulting, Leatherface (2017) the WORST of all of them for being even more lazy, less creative, nonsensical and less scarier than the rest, and the 2022 was just as bland as part 3.
The only one I love is the Original classic, I really like the Remake and I think the Remake's Prequel is unfairly hated and underrated and it actually went back to the roots of what made the Original work so well to be scary.
My ranking and this is one of my favorite franchises
9. Leatherface (doesn’t feel like a TCM movie but it’s not a bad movie but shouldn’t be in this franchise)
8. Texas Chainsaw 3D ( I actually enjoy some scenes in this one but the 2nd half ruins it making us root for leatherface and believe that heather would stay with him after he just murdered all her friends)
7. Leatherface TCM3 (this movie is just pure boring and blend, it does have some cool scenes in it but overall very forgettable)
6. Tcm The beginning ( Kind of like you said this movie answer questions that we didn’t need answers too, good movie though but low rewatch value)
5. Texas chainsaw massacre (2022) ( Bad plot but the kills make up for it, honestly just another bad movie but it’s fun and entertaining enough to be this high on my list)
4. Tcm The next generation ( being a huge fan of this franchise and watching these films a lot I’ve grew to love this movie because it’s so bad that it’s good. I laugh so much during this one)
3. TCM 2 ( one of the best campy horror films ever made, I understand people that don’t like the tone switch from the original to this one but it grew on me and I love it now)
2. Tcm (2003 Remake) ( like you said one of the best modern remakes and the reason I fell in love with this franchise)
1. Tcm (1974) ( a simple story that works and is very effective. No other film has been able to touch this master piece)

i really like the next generation tbh, its so fun, i feel like its misunderstood its meant to be a parody of the original, everything but meant to be a dark over-the-top comedy, and for that i absolutely love it. it nails the comedy aspect better than part 2
