pass this inspirational performance on, we need this now more than ever!!
Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. Please hit the like button if you can.
Wow! No slick production, no fancy-shmancy arrangement. no lip synching or over-dubbing, just those perfect voices backed with spare instrumentation..
that's what REAL musicians do...
@@Highinsight7 Yes, no autotune needed.
@@jasonburger3533 auto tune was a embarrassment & major career ender back then because it meant what it actually means, always has & always will,
ya can’t carry a tune ina bucket & shouldn’t be allowed to run a elementary school choir
@@patrickancona1193 I agree with that statement. The Fifth Dimension did not use autotune, as they were around before it existed.
It is amazing how beautiful those two ladies still are
Man ! This was emotional for a 68-year-old !
Emotional for any age, loves this song/ group
I know Marilyn has a stand out voice and probably could have had an amazing solo career, but I'm so glad she helped to create the best group ever, the 5th Dimension!
AMEN!
LaMonte McLemore founded the group. I follow him on Facebook. Also, Marilyn was in another group with LaMonte and he left to form a new group and he took her with him.
@@theresap.3305 Yes. There were the Hi-Fis and The Versatiles before The Fifth Dimension came into being.
She could have still left after awhile. For herself. She had such star power.
When is somebody going to invent a time machine. I must go back
Wow the original lineup, amazing. And the harmonies were still tight!
Floating like sweet air and beautiful
I was 10 yrs old when I 1st saw them on the Ed Sullivan show, Marilyn McCoo was my ultimate dream girl.
This was in the early 90s. Wow Florence and Marilyn have not aged
and they sound amazing... high notes... low notes... they nailed 'em all!!!
Black don't crack......
Look at them now, ageless.
Young men, are you listening and learning !
The background music sounds like karaoke. But you can really hear who is singing what and you can hear their harmonies. Simply amazing.
Two absolutely beautiful women with matching voices.
Two beautiful women with voices to match.
Without sound modification, I realized their harmony was much more crisp, colorful, and gorgeous than expected.
They're singing to a Track, pre redorded . Yes, perfect Harmonies.
There is basically no instrumental accomponyment here. This proves the original recording succeeded because of vocals alone. It's easy to forget the environment this amazing song was created in. The country was spinning out of control, much worse than today; but this song pointed to a better tomorrow. That's much harder to accomplish in a song than just lamenting current problems.
The 5th Dimension great musical group from the 60s & 70s rest peacefully Mr. Ron Townson God bless you. I wasn't born when the 5th Dimension became famous but My Uncles & Aunts were , My Grandfather was still in the Military when The 5th Dimension was still out. Before my grandmother died in 2008 I was an teenager my grandmother told me about the 5th Dimension
Hi, I'm Mexican, and I love this song👍🏻
I love the "regular" clothes, as opposed to costumes. Looks like when they first got together for performing.
Goodness... I STILL... JUST LOVE this group... and they sound FANTASTIC!!!!!
What a great group!
Me encanta ... 🤩
Marilyn McCoo, wow, just wow.
Wow. Some groups never lose it. Nicely done!
😢😢😢 que hermosa música la leña de paz y amor
OMG..THEY DON'T GET OLD...THEY AGED WELL.
Classy tune from April 1967. Still stands up after all these years!
It certainly does
Ah The Reunion........Great Memories
This group epitomized the sixties.....cool, hip, beautiful....I see a lot of the comments from the guys are about Marilyn Mcoo, and I understand that, but I always had a major crush on Florence Larou...sorry about the spelling...
Love to fly with 5th Dimension. You are so beautiful in my heart. Pure love, peace and joy.👼🌼🕊💖🎶
That was really good. Not easy to pull off live I should imagine.
Form is temporary. Class is permanent.
The terrible sound mix reveals what talented singers they all are.
What a class act they truly are
Did you hear that final note? Looooooooooong
Marilyn holds a high a or A flat for DAYS at the end... amazing...
Yeah I noticed that, wow!
They need those violins!!! It just fills in the song so well
I didn't even miss 'em...
real talent
I Love That Harmonizing!
Abundant blessings for the beautiful unfolding. Thank you for your beautiful song to guide my way in my beautiful balloon. 🌄✌💛
Lovely
I was very emotional to hear again (and over the years) that beautiful song, they have not changed at all, they are still the same, a very charming group ❤
Always a class act! ❤
They certainly can sing
i only watched solid gold because she was on there!!
She helped put the "gold" in "Solid Gold" in every episode she had done.
I was disappointed when Marilyn left Solid Gold for a little while, but then I was so overjoyed when she returned.
@@danstevenson6612 Marilyn McCoo helped make that show and is the longest host, despite being non-consecutive.
I can't believe it, but their older "matured" voices actually do sound better than ever- especially Marilyn & Florence! This was 1990, rt? They looked & sounded amazing.
Pure Magic. Great to be able to hear their voices with simple instrumentation. Gorgeous ladies.
WOW! Hearing them perform it LIVE for once (not synched) is astonishing!
They almost always performed live
Ron and Marilyn killing it like always.
“A.M. Los Angeles”-the hosts of this particular episode are Tawny Little and Johnny Mountain. Little was a longtime anchor on Eyewitness News on KABC-7 (and former Miss America), on which “A.M. Los Angeles” aired. Johnny Mountain was a longtime weatherman on KABC and later, I think, on the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles. Regis Philbin was an early host of the show, possibly the first host. Co-hosting with Regis was Sarah Purcell, later known for the prime time show “Real People” in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s on NBC. Other hosts of “A.M. Los Angeles” were Cindy Garvey (wife, and then ex-wife, of Los Angeles Dodger first baseman Steve Garvey), Christina Ferrare (once married to automobile manufacturer John DeLorean), and, I’m thinking, Steve Edwards (a longtime TV host in Los Angeles).
The harmonies are still fantastic, nothing is lost ,loved it thanks.
Oh, such harmonies.......oh such memories!!!
One of my best groups. Most of their music ara in my list when I travel to my favourite city, Campos do Jordão that is at almos 1.700 m above the sea and this music take me to there always. Beautiful womens and great guys that follow me since my childhood with proud.👏👏👏👏👏

Of course it's not, but they make it look so effortless. Superb performers.
Beautiful people singing lovely songs and retaining the grace they always had ❤❤❤❤
❤
God was showing off when he made Marilyn
I'm guessing this was around 1992?
What year was this done?
It was broadcast live from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on a day in August 1991. "A.M. Los Angeles" was the name of the show. Johnny Mountain and Tawny Little were the hosts.
What year was this?
Is that Stanley??
People didn't get the subliminal drug Reference of this song ..that cunning so called music industry
What is AMLA means?
It's from a morning show, AM (the morning) LA, Los Angeles where it takes place, AMLA.

Lady boy original
I love the 5th dimension and I love this song, but whoever mixed it has Billy Davis' or Ronald Townson's mic way too hot.
Ron Townson sings the tenor parts in this song so he's easier to hear
It sounded like Billy's voice standing out.
Unimprovable...
❤️
