I think ores should respawn in deeper and more dangerous areas and depending on how deep/dangerous it is the fast it respawns, but ores only respawn if that areas resources are depleted, so then you don't run out, but you still are in danger.
The fact that you can easily wipe out the entire snowstalker population and they'll never come back is worrying. Then you basically turn the stalker fur resource into a very finite one, without even knowing it. If it was up to me, I'd make it so when you kill one of the last three or four snow stalkers, one of the dead ones that's the furthest away from you will respawn, so you can clear out an area and make it safe to walk around in without your prawn suit, but you don't screw yourself out of being able to craft another snow suit. Alternatively, they could let you harvest fur from Marguerit's pet snowstalker. ...actually, maybe you already can. I never tried it out. It feels pretty weird to think that eventually you can just run out of resources if you play long enough. Like, if you want to build a ton of fully decked out bases all over the map, you will eventually run out of titanium and lithium and stuff.
You have a good point here, especially with the snowstalker fur. However Subnautica has a LOT of general resources and lets say, if you at some point have been able to gather ALL ressources and you want to build more, you can always get it using the console in game. Ofc. its not the best solution, but its there. Maybe we will get a patch for this issue later on in a future update :)! I bet it's also possible to edit some cache files in the installation folder of subnautica, in order to "reset" resource nodes in game. I know this was possible in the first Subnautica game.
@@hakkettv6944 not been able to play below zero too much, but in Subnautica you could get infinite Gold Lithium and I believe the third part of shale is Lead and if I not mistaken hostile Leviathans are made to be too strong to kill under normal circumstances, hence no need for them to respawn... also it varies across platforms but the game can sometimes get confused and forget that something was collected etc... i will just chalk it up to random spaghetti in the code... most fish respawn though and certain creatures respawn after some time which may or may not produce resources... but either way you need to work really really hard to use up all the resources, game dumps a near life time supply outside of you turning the entire map into a base
Honestly the further and further you get into subnautica, the more resources you need, the more resources you can also get until you’re basically just exploting the entire planet for resources, and I love it. Hell, its the only reason I not only visited the crash zone after I wiped the aurora, but also took the time and nerves to kill all the reapers there. Makes extracting that sweet sweet titanium alot easier.
@@hakkettv6944 yes, but the same also goes for the mercury II (I have an unlimited amount of copper wires because of that) and the koppa mining site, etc...
I'm playing Subnautica Below Zero on PS5 and all the resources, all the creatures (even the leviathans) in my playthrough did respawn. NO MAJOR UPDATE HERE!
Hey Raypit! Resources only respawns if there has been a huge update to Subnautica below zero. Then all the zones are "refreshed". Given that subnautica below zero was fully released a couple of days ago, a big update was pushed to the live version of the game, meaning that all zones in the game were refreshed after the installation of this update :) I think that is the reason why.
09/25/2021 I have played below zero for the past 3 days on xbox and there have been no updates since I started playing. That being said, all the resources from 2:08 to 2:32 do respawn for me
Thanks now I know that I can't have my fun with the game. And that I can't just build bases were I like. Or not. Just notice that the oreviens I collected first has now new stuff in it. Chest also Respawn. Info Playing on PlayStation 4 and on the version 1.11. and no update was in the last few days
this is the only thing i deslike in subnautica, resources are already hard enough to get. There should be an option to make them respawn, i am terrified of reapers i cant even be near them in creative. I didnt find any mods that make them respawn either..
Sorry for the late reply! Unfortunately I have not been able to find a definite answer, because there are many conflicting answers out there in regards to the first subnautica game. However, the general answer is, that most resources do not respawn with exceptions like ion cubes, metal salvage, shale outcrops and a few other things :)
@@MrSomeTwinkie I really like that idea :) However, I don't know if anyone is actually able to use that many resources, that they would need to reset it.

Whenever I go to the frozen leviathan cave for example, Sam’s necklace, the scanner on the table, the lubricant etc. have all respawned

I have Ion cubes respawn regularly at all the alien sites before and after the update.
Alright, good to know.
I have not been able to find any data suggesting, if ion cubes respawn or if they dont :)

What happens if you burn thru resources and can't finish the story just a dead game then?
Thanks for the video! Do you know if it's the same in the original Subnautica game ?

Think it would be cool if you could build something to respawn everything

do they respawn when we leave the game?
