The best way I can interpret this scene is that Dan focused on the past so much, he forgot he's not in that moment anymore and also forgot to remove his emotions before making any judgements
I used this logic to get home from work. I ended up at a Dennys telling the waiter it was a waste of time knowing where I was. He looked at me dead in the eyes and said: "Sir, it's 2 a.m and this is not a Dennys, this is your father in your house and I don't care if you're drunk, go to bed before mom wakes up."
@GRIVOGIA It must be. Its not in the movie. Ive seen it about 15 times, pretty sure Id remember that scene:P.. Its a shame they deleted it imo. Just some advise, read the book. The movie is great, but the book is just so much more.. One of the few things I dont have a word for.
Not gonna lie, I've been watching these deleted scenes and I really think they all could have matched the final cut perfectly
So it connects to the finale on the rings: "Where are you? - Here. What time is it? - Now."
What are you? - This moment

We don't know where we are, all we think we know is that we're here
Is that a deleted scene? cause i don't remember it
yep,
@ranvijayization "Don't try to figure out" means "don't try to understand". Does that help?
