It's true. He was definitely a big brother to Ashley, which was definitely one of his greatest strengths as a character. Will definitely had his influence on her, both good and bad. But for the most part, they always had a certain sibling relationship. Even outside of the show, they still had that relationship. Hell, Will helped her launch her singing career, short-lived as it was.

Something bothered me about that, cuz in the end credits of the finale Will and Ashley are hugging each other. I figured that Will and Tatyana shot a scene but it was never shown in the two part episode and Idk why it wasn’t included
