I'm pleasantly surprised by how good Geoff's voice sounds here. It's really top notch...
what do you mean.. the crowd does more of the choruses than him
His voice was also good in 2008 on the American Soldier Tour. After watching hundreds of Queensryche videos, his voice seems to go the way of his wasteline. Every so often he loses a few pounds, gets in shape, and sounds fantastic. When he lets himself go, his voice suffers. We are all human and it happens. He is also a father and husband and life can be stressful at times.
@@ErlendBuflod stop fucking complaining. It's a live concert and people have always sang along with these songs. Even back in '85 when I first saw them.
@@ErlendBuflod listen again, makes no sense, they're singing along yes but Tate is singing the choruses. Note where this recording came from...
Around 2006 or 2007 was when Geoff’s voice started getting weak. Also, Scott’s drumming just gotten worst
I saw them in 86, opening for Ozzy’s Ultimate Sin Tour…I told the friend I took about this song “Take hold of the Flame”I hoped they play, but he probably won’t sing it like the Cassette (lol) because he hit some unreal notes, and I would play that version on they way home…stupid me!!! They opened with it..Geoff hit E5 on 5 occasions, with e of them sustained e of them (opening, middle, & the end)…album perfect! Best Live vocals I’ve ever heard, and I’ve seen all the greats Live (ok,ok,not all, but voices like Maiden, Dio, Queen, John Prine, etc).
that's amazing, what did the friend think?
@@madpriest7822 He just grabbed his head in amazement, I can still see his face today. His name was Steve Williams, we worked at a Vet together and had gone to the same High School. I even recall how Tate was dressed…he had a long black leather coat, almost to the floor. He had longer hair and had put a white streak off-center in his hair. Funny how those pictures stay fresh 37 years later. I can even recall when Ozzy came on stage. He floated down, center stage, sitting in an Evil looking Kings style chair, lol. Some great memories.
I saw Queensryche in 2005 when they opened for Judas Priest and both bands rocked...Goeff's voice was awesome then as it was in the 90's when i saw them.
Love Queensryche saw them many years ago I always thought Geoff had an awesome rock voice !!!
Good Lord Geoff is on F'N FIRE here, this is such a badass performance!!
Geoff was sounding unbelievable on every song
Original lineup reunion needs to happen
"Like a handgun fully loaded" Incredible performance ... reality.
This was an awesome tour. My fav tour by them. Blew me away. Glad I found this video.
Iconic as always
Geoff's the bomb 💣 💋❤️🔥👠
Great concert.Thanks for sharing.
This was a great show. Everyone sounded good.
so much more voice then.......great clip
fantastic
i saw Queensryche a month before this at 1st Ave in Minneapolis. OMC in full then a set of other hits. I got a Set list from Geoff.
First Avenue...I’m a Minnesota chick, and although First Ave is the place, it’s kinda sad to see them go from stadiums to nightclubs
This was the last time I saw QR live.
I will never forget when I bought this tape.
The Great Geoff Tate no one does it better 👍❤️
21:56 / 24:28 / 30:32 / 31:14
where in the world did they go wrong. they were on fire 2001 to 05 i don't know what happened
I only recognise QR with Geoff Tate.
Mike Stone is a very talented guitarist, but he has no respect for the amazing solos that made those songs great. He tries to be so “original” that he fails miserably.
He is good but I have seen him a few times with the band and he has little or no interaction with the audience. In fact on one tour he wore isolation headphones and basically looked down or had his eyes closed all night.
@@rycher2007 anxiety maybe?
arthur murfitt, could be.
I watched them on the Priest Tour which was great. Then when I heard I’m American I cringed it sounded like they were trying to be modern and not Just being Queensryche. I saw the Mindcrime at the Moore & Mike Stone Butchered every solo Especially Waiting for 22.. good god it’s tragic
@@jeffcordova9633 . Mike Stone is doing a great job lately with Queensrÿche.
Thank you Mike Stone for ruining some of the greatest guitar solos ever.
What solo did he ruin?
Act 2 around 50 minutes
1:25:18 gorgeous lady
Fav band for decades...hate the small drum kit fad :)
Agree! Glad Peart never bought into that fad. Except for Burning For Buddy sessions that is. lol
Why is it that every time they do Mindcrime in full, Pamela's always shoeless? That can't be too comfortable.
Ive seen a bunch of singers do that, usually w carpeting underneath tho

last time in Paris was...slow
Geoff was 45 here the same age Todd is in 2019 and Todd sounds way better at that age then Geoff did don’t get me wrong Geoff still sounds decent here but his voice was definitely on the decline
Thats simply not true.. Todd cant maintain any sort of high notes.. he is getting worse and worse.. watch him from 2012 till now.. his voice is declining
Geoff is a singer, Todd is a screamer. It's that simple. Todd is able to reach the high register, but only through shouting. He doesn't glide between the octaves like a proper vocalist does. Listen to Geoff's sound here. It's effortless and clean. Todd can't sing clean! He has to shout and sing with the raspy tone to make it work. Not even in the same league as Geoff....
Michael Holmgaard have you heard the albums with Todd singing on them? He’s clearly a good vocalist. I think you’re just a butt hurt Tate fan boy. “No Tate No Queensryche” you’re that guy aren’t you?
Take Hold of the Flame sounds amazing. He's a little off from the previous 20 years prior that most folks associated with that video, when Geoff was in his mid-20s. If anything, he's learned to pace himself as he has aged. Bruce & Rob do the same thing. Todd is a good singer / student, but Geoff will always be the master.
