I think the main reason why one will experience the uncanny valley is because seeing a robot that looks human and knowing that it isn’t really a human activities a part of our brains that sees them as potential threats and even though most can’t really do much it still makes us feel uncomfortable because it’s something different that most people haven’t seen before and I think with time and the evolution of technology it’ll be easier for our brains to adapt to the different looks and abilities of robots so that uncomfortable feeling will dissipate in time.

A theory that I just thought of. we might be scared of human looking robots is in short answer that they look like us. The long answer would be like this : Not just robots but anything humanoid that we know is not supposed to be one since we know that cartoons are designed to "be an actual human" at least in the cartoon world they are. And also that our brain dosnt know humanoid creatures strength and weaknesses. You know a big dog is dangerous bc yk it can bite, but u know a bunny isn't bc its a prey,and yk ure more stranger. And probably cuz we know we are the only species that look like this, and we also know a humanoid thing isn't human but the fact it looks like one is scary. Other animals like for example a dog wouldn't be scared of a fox even tho they both are canines and look the same,but still a different animal, of cuz their brain doesn't have as much ability as ours, aka they don't look at "oh that snake has this pattern, it's dangerous" they think like "oh this is a snake, ik I'm stronger/weaker then a snake" or "this thing is bigger/smaller, I should be stronger/weaker" but it's just a theory after all, I'm not an expert at this (probably wrote some things wrong, sry for that and I won't correct then cuz idc)
