The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the fourth century, it contains the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is believed by Christians to have been buried and resurrected.
After allegedly seeing a vision of a cross in the sky in 312, Constantine the Great converted to Christianity, signed the Edict of Milan legalising the religion, and sent his mother Helena to Jerusalem to look for Christ's tomb. With the help of Bishop of Caesarea Eusebius and Bishop of Jerusalem Macarius, three crosses were found near a tomb, leading the Romans to believe that they had found Calvary. Constantine ordered in about 326 that the temple to Jupiter/Venus be replaced by a church. After the temple was torn down and its ruins removed, the soil was removed from the cave, revealing a rock-cut tomb that Helena and Macarius identified as the burial site of Jesus. A shrine was built, enclosing the rock tomb walls within its own.
In 327, Constantine and Helena separately commissioned the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to commemorate the birth of Jesus.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as separate constructs over the two holy sites: the great basilica (the Martyrium visited by Egeria in the 380s), an enclosed colonnaded atrium (the Triportico) with the traditional site of Calvary in one corner, and across a courtyard, a rotunda called the Anastasis ("Resurrection"), where Helena and Macarius believed Jesus to have been buried.
The church was consecrated on 13 September 335. Every year, the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates the anniversary of the Dedication of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ

    My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered licensed tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am present tudies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee,

Appreciated your comments about accepting with love that there are 2 possible burial places. I personally don't have an opinion.. but I hate the fighting over the spot.

I believe by archeology has evidence that the Holy Sepulchre is where the tomb of Jesus was. The garden tomb is beautiful and peaceful place it is centuries later than the 1st century. The most important thing is Jesus gave his life for us and rose on the third day to give us eternal life with him. He's no longer in a tomb.

I believe that the Holy Sepulchre is the correct place--because of the history of the place...but I believe that God sent us the Garden Tomb, because that is what the land around the Holy Sepulchre looked like in the first century--but over the years, the land around the original place of the crucifixion was changed so much that no one could tell any more what it looked like...so God sent us the Garden Tomb--not because it was the original site, but so that we would have a place that still looked like the original site to remind us of what it looked like (this was especially important before the advent of photos/film/videos--to give people a realistic view of what the original site looked like...dts/usa

Same thing for the tombs that you are showing us today: the Holy Sepulchre no longer looks like the tomb in which Jesus was placed, so the tombs behind it that you show us are ones from that time that are left in the original form, to give us an idea of what the Holy Sepulchre looked like before the building was erected over it and it was desecrated during the crusades...dts/usa

Nobody can be buried next to Jesus Christ, because he is not inside that tomb today.
He vacated that tomb belonging to Joseph of Arimethea on the 3rd day after being buried in it 2000 years ago.
40 days later Jesus ascended up to go to heaven, where He is sitting next to His Father God today.

Jesus is alive and his spirit is in heaven with the FATHER...he was in the tomb only for 3 days and the real one is empty, only a memory of his death...🐟

JESUS CHRIST is not buried HIS mortal body died then the power of HIM caused an earthquake the veil in the temple was ripped in two. HE went down to hell and took back the keys to the kingdom witnessed to the captives. HE conquered death, hell, and the grave. HE got back in HIS mortal body. HE appeared to hundreds if not thousands before HE ascended into heaven HE is seated at the right hand of the FATHER HE is returning shortly. But first the liar comes and pretends he is GOD the very thing that brought Satan the sentence of hell and the lake of fire. If you don't believe JESUS CHRIST is alive ask HIM HE will answer you and then you will know for yourself first hand knowledge.
