    I second the Path Projects shorts. I like the Sykes line with the central back pocket that fits a phone. I can put my phone there and never feel it for hours. There are two other rear pockets that I use for keys or sometimes gels. I don’t like front pockets since things seem to bounce in them. However the rear pockets don’t seem to have the problem.

      What I love about the joggers is they incorporated all the rear pockets of the Sykes with the hand pockets! Now I want shorts with all the pockets.

    Thanks for answering my question and the well wishes. Back to being healthy and building miles again! How often are you interacting with your coach? Do you have a standing check-in or is it as needed? And are they proactively reaching out to you based on comments you put in Training Peaks, or what they see vs. you making the outreach?

    Hi Wes! I saw a good training week! 🎉🎉 I, unfortunately, I suffer a little injury on my right hip...😢 So past week I Walked...and the next for sure! 😅 Anyway, the "origins Story" is a very good idea! 💪🏻 I Remember a video when you talkes About hallucinations (maybe after a Cocodona's race) Have you lived other similar situations? 😅 Ok, stay strong Wes and have a great week! Hug from Italy! 🤟🇮🇹💪🏻

      This year at Cococona I feel like my hallucinations didn't actually start until after the race! I was looking at photos on my phone and seeing things and misinterpreting what was in the photos. Kinda like what I was experiencing in that post-Moab video ruclips.net/video/p1eY0w-ZVkw/видео.html
      The night after we finished the Copper Kings 100 weekend before last I was really tired after not sleeping much Friday and Saturday, I was having some deja-vu type hallucinations at dinner. "Have we been here before?" Even the server who sat us was very familiar. But I'd never been there.

    The long run location for this week looks to not be as well maintained. How on earth do you find your way? Great content, as always! Also, would you just chop away at those nettles that are stretching across the trail?

    • @wplate
      @wplate  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, maintenance there is spotty. It is a tree farm that lets recreational users on. Volunteers do some maintenance, but the ratio of trails to volunteers isn’t in our favor. And this time of year the vegetation has been growing like crazy.
      I try to dodge them or knock down a nettles stalk with my feet. I usually get hit on my legs more. I don’t totally hate the sting of nettles, but I prefer keeping it off.

    Hey Wes!
    Thanks for the updates, i hope the final few weeks before CDR go well and you are getting that technical trail practice in! Im starting to get excited now that its only a few weeks away.
    My question is when did you feel "ready' to undertake a 200 miler? I recently got in to Tahoe 200 (I didnt expect to get in the first year), and I dont feel "ready" to undertake something of that magnitude. As soon as I got that email there was a huge mixture of excitement, but also feelings of inadequecy. Im hoping that as training progresses that Ill get to that feeling of quiet confidence, but I wonder with such a huge task if that feeling ever arrives.

      Thank you for joining as a channel member!
      I'm nervous about CDR! Being in a different country, with race organizers that do things differently, I feel so out of place already. 😵‍💫
      Great question about feeling ready for a 200. I'll include this in the next VLOG.

      Dont be you will love it! The RDs are great, and its a pretty smooth and well-run event. I saw you posted some Q's on the facebook group, but if you need any help before then/race weekend let me know and ill try help out.

    Hey Wes! Here’s a strength training question for you - apologies if you’ve covered this in the past. When you’re doing RDLs and other exercises that require weights (I.e. not body weight), are you continually stepping up in weights over time? Or do you just maintain? I only started integrating strength work into the mix maybe a year and a half ago? And I’ve noticed considerable gains in terms of running endurance and speed. But I’m currently trying to navigate the “load heavy, but not too much” territory and it’s tough.

    I’m dealing with Achilles Tendinitis currently, and moderating my training to not make it worse. I’m interested to know whether you have dealt with it in the past, and if so what has worked for you.
