Thanks for your videos, they are fantastic! I am running Bigfoot this weekend, it is my first 200. Terrified, but I think it should go well. You are an inspiring athlete Wes!
Glad you're sickness was brief and that overall you had a great week of training. Thank you for answering my question! I'll check out and consider the waist lights.
Hi Wes, so glad to hear you enjoyed your long run this week and that your chest pain is easing up. Sounds like it was a very good idea to withdraw from the race to take some pressure off and give yourself space to rest, heal and find joy on the trail again. All the best to you!
Love all these videos. I have been binge watching all of them during my breaks at work for the past 3 months. As far as the “ground glass opacities”, I used to see them all the time when Covid patients came in the ED back during the height of the pandemic. I just asked one of my ED docs and they said that just means you have either an infectious and/or inflammatory process going on in there. My guess is that your lungs are inflamed/irritated from all that dust you have been taking in on your 200+ milers. Hopefully it did not damage your lungs too bad and you are by next season. Im sure you will be fine I am excited for my first Ultra I will be running Sunday in Michigan, the Vines to Pines 55k. I also am thinking about signing up for the triple crown next May and excited to train all year in 2025 doing 50 and 100 milers. Question: is is easy to sign up for it on May 1st or does it fill up fast. Any prerequisites? Didn’t see any on website Also I am happy to be a toe member as of yesterday 😂. You have taught me so much , thank you Wes
Thank you for letting me know about your experience with the GGOs. I agree with your assessment and it will all be fine. Especially since the chest pain seems to have been just some ribs needing adjustment and the chest pain is gone, it feels less dire. I am curious to see what the pulmonologist will have to say next month. Let me know how the 55K went! and I address your Triple Crown question in the next video! THANK YOU for becoming a channel member! 🙌🏼
Wes, good to see your candid reports lately. Why don't many ultra runners ever discuss these realities? Is it terrible for a brand, especially if you're a sponsored athlete, to acknowledge the real challenges, physical and mental, and share effective solutions/coping strategies? I'm currently managing several physical challenges to show up at Teanaway this year healthy. Hey, if you're not racing, I'm still looking for at least one pacer! Know anyone else that might be up for the adventure? Thanks!
Hi Wes, maybe I had Lost something...but the Canadian Death Race? Anyway for me isn't a good moment...my right hip it's not ok...I can't run 😢 Just walking for now! Not so lucky this 2024 for me. 😢 Stay strong Wes and congratulation for the video! Always inspiring!! 💪🏻🇮🇹
yeah, I chose not to go. I mentioned it last week: ruclips.net/video/ltm5XerhBao/видео.htmlsi=hUcsvEnB0eqf12mZ&t=76 Maybe I'll try it next year, we'll see. I am sorry to hear that your hip is troubling you! I hope you find relief soon.
My husband, Darby & I enjoyed meeting you out on the Lord Hill trail today. We appreciate your genuine content.

I will be volunteering at the Coldwater Lake aid station, please say hi when you come through!
All the best for the race! Follow your game plan and trust the process!

I'm feeling thankful the chest pain appears to be unrelated to my breathing issues. Thank you Chad! Appreciate you.

+1 for Ultraspire waistlights. I've been using mine for at least 3 winters with no issues whatsoever

@@wplate oh yeah....not an Easy choice but certainly the best thing to do! 💪🏻 Good luck Wes!
Hi Wes, have you had much experience / success with red light therapy for recovery?
I have not even heard of it! Do you have a link with info?
There is a gym opening in Arlington where you work out in RL sauna and the claim is it helps with recovery among other benefits
@@BrettWellman That's interesting. While I enjoy hot yoga, working out in a sauna doesn't hold much appeal for me.
