    Congratulations to Petronas, for this proof of concept test.
    These types of robots allow continuous inspections, using different types of sensors, such as flammable gas detectors (caused by leaks), infrared cameras (detection of hot or cold spots caused by leaks or failure of process equipment), sound detectors (monitoring of abnormal noises) and high resolution cameras (for recording images and 3D recording of inspections).
    All records and measurements acquired and collected by the robots are transmitted "online" via W-Fi or 5G to the control stations, for storage in the cloud and subsequent analysis and treatment of the data.
    "Ex" robots like these and other types (climbing, crawling and flying) can operate even in hazardous areas containing flammable gases or combustible dust, with international IECEx certification, including hazardous areas Zones 1 and 2.
    Robots like this type with four legs and flying robots, like drones, also avoid, among other benefits, the need for people to be present in high-risk work, such as work at height, with risks of falling, and work in confined spaces, with risks of suffocation or poisoning by toxic gases.
    At the present time, one of the biggest challenges is the "cultural" acceptance of the presence of autonomous robots like these working together with people, in the activities of operation, maintenance and inspection.
    The use of four-legged, crawling, flying and climbing robots for 24/7 inspection services in land, sea and underwater industrial facilities represents significant opportunities for the application of current technologies available on the market, including IIoT, artificial intelligence and systems integration. automated in Industry 4.0.
    The use of autonomous robots for industrial inspection services, with benefits in terms of increasing the safety of people, reducing inspection time, reducing the costs of assembling means of access (such as scaffolding and ladders) and better quality of documentation and digitally obtained records.
