This technology is so awesome and it really isn’t very old relative to the age of humanity. We ought to be very thankful for these people. May God bless them and you as well, BBC.

I would like to work on an oil rig but dont know where to apply ... I couldn't find anything online (for inexperienced people like me) only for skilled technicians etc.
Valerijs Otovcics hi! I’d really like to find out more about oil rigs if you’ve got a spare minute or two ahah. I’m also applying to work at an oil rig.
@@gheudbbn9134 at the moment I am with atlasprofessionals.com I know in UK they are recruiting "Green hands" (no offshore experience). They do have a lot of offices around the globe, check with them. To have more chance to get offshore job I would recommend to pay for the courses (1000-1500GBP). If you are over 40 years old with no offshore experience it will be VERY difficult to get a job. Have you got any more questions which I could help you with?
I’m really imaged like I don’t have a single word to explain. I’m sure you guys are super strong and really brave to work middle of the sea. My relative is on an oil rig near Ireland and works for Kirby Marine He has run out of juice on his phone! It seems he is not with a way to call anybody, said he would be there for six months.
It'll be fun until you realise that you're basically stranded in the middle of the sea for at least 2-3 months far away from family. Like my father once said, "Even if the road is lined with flower petals, always remember your wae back to ya' wee family. SO STOOP DREAMIN' WIDE AND JUUST STAE!". You could tell, he's bit drunk.
@@Rom-ju5tf. Yes but say you have a girlfriend/wife and kids. You work 6 months a year which means you don't see them for 6 months a year. Then, if your girlfriend also works even those 6 months where you are at home you don't really get to spend that much time with her because she also works and you both have friends and other parts of your life you want to invest time into too.
@@Unknown-ol2uh The pay also seems shit if you dont have a degree anymore. For example I called up about roustabouts and roughnecks... entry level roles in the UK. It not only costs 2-3 thousand pounds to get trained but you only get about 150 a day which is very bad when you consider you only work half the time and dont get paid on that other half the year you dont work.

My dad also worked on a oil rig platform , Maui A Taranaki of shore New Plymouth, New Zealand, he was a crane driver , he also operated the world biggest ship Crane , the Blue whale, the stories he told me still affect me to this day, one very important story he told us , and believe me this is the truth, there were Japanese squid boats with massive lights to attract the squid , a few time the boys were looking down and witnessed UFO activities on the bottom of the ocean floor , the men were all watching them scanning the ocean floor , there lights were clearly visible from the platform 1000 of meters about, it was completely oblivious to them all they were compling information about how much oil the rig had been
Taking from the oil reservoir, he also said when they take out the oil that also works as a natural suspension system they back full it with sea water, he said one day in the future when there will be a major shift in the earth's crust the whole plato will fall, it will cause a massive tidal wave , headed straight for my birth place, New Plymouth. That time is coming soon , it's way overdue.
