I was lucky enough to see Gazza play on many occasions. Including 89 prelim and GF. I was there when he kicked 14 against Richmond in 89 and 14 against Essendon in 93. Watched him kick 11 against Melbourne one day and 11 against Nth. I saw the best of Gazza. I can’t speak for everyone but I can say this on my behalf, Gary Ablett Snr is the best footballer I have ever seen . And I’ll take that to the grave.

@TheDamo63 I'll never forget the look Mick Martin's face when Leigh Tudor kicked it over his head and he turned to see Gaz mark it, 5 metres out with seconds to go with scores level in the 94 prelim.
I was at the Essendon game as well. At the Cattery when he kicked his 100th against Sydney and his 1000th against former cat Stephen O'Reilly playing for Freo.
Best two players I have ever seen are called Gary Ablett.

Hawthorn has had the greatest players greatest coaches of all time! Look at cups since 2015 dogs coached by ex hawk assistant to clarko! I'm a Essendon Bomber fan of 50+ yrs and every time Essendon played against Ablett,I secretly wished that Ablett would kick a bag of goals against us but of course we still win. Perfectly example 1983 Ablett v Essendon Our full forward Salmon kicks 10 goals at one end and Ablett kicks a massive 14 goals at the other end ! Bombers win though 😅 Just a pure dynamic power forward with a killer instinct for the goals. Would kick over 100 + goals a year if he was playing today against the pretty boys of the AFL today 😂

Gazza was absolute box office bum's on seats, nobody had his aerial prowess along with his amazing ball handling skills when it hit the ground. Chased the ball like his life depended on it. 1:25 is the best goal of all time
time between marking and kicking? can someone explain how he did it? so many lucky goals make the top goals of all time list but this is clearly not luck at work

These days it would be a ruck infringement. How gay is footy now!!! Even if still explosive and much faster....
That goal was one of my childhood major highlights of all time, it was magic!

@@JonBurrows-qd7vw Yes it was exciting I was out having a ball when I was younger, not spending my time commenting on other people’s comments on RUclips because I have no life.

Better than Gary Jnr, unlucky, beat Bruce Douall, pushed two opponents at the same time, took the mark, kicked the goal...how many premierships? The measuring stick!
    GOAT: Bruce Douall
