I’m so glad you and your husband are well. Your studio will be amazing when you get it finished. Love the island you have made, just a thought you could put swivel wheels on it then you can move it about. I can relate to your basement issue! My house is 84 years old and has taken on water over the years. My art space is down there also. I'm finally having the drainage issue taken care of this summer. I'm not waterproofing like you did. It's something else. But I hoard art supplies! I understand that! I saw a quote I liked, A clean house is a sign of a wasted life! We aren't wasteful!
Nope, we're not wasteful. We see an object and automatically think of the things we wanted to do with it. So many ideas.

As for the mould, if it’s hidden behind wall cabinets of course you’re not going to see it but so glad you’re getting it sorted now.
I’ve just organised a resin workshop for myself & putting all my stuff in place & I’m just about ready to start my resinning again

No worries your not the only one and you won't be the last with this problems. Outside of the cabinets put in some shelving this way you can finds things easier. And just smile thru the process ❤

Do NOT apologize for anything. Very few of us actually have legit organizing for our crafty chaos. The busier you get the worse the organization issues can be. You and hubby are what's important. Using cabinets under the laminate top is a great idea. I bought 2 IKEA 3 drawer cupboards and put a nice top on it. Just make sure the top hangs over the edges. Will be a great room when you're done. GOOD LUCK. Leta

Blessing in disguise for you, you found all the yucky stuff so it can be taken care of now. Now 😊 you can start from scratch in organizing everything the way you want. Good thing hubby at the trailer, so not in the middle of the mess. The canvases on the ends will look fabulous ❤😊. Remember to not over do it and stay healthy. ❤❤😊😊

Yes! we want to see it. As to putting the cabinets together your will bolt them in to pairs through the side walls at least 3 places along the back edge and the front edge, then depending if they have a back or not, can bolt them with 3 bolts left and right. If they have no back you will bolt them 3 times through each back upright support, with this option you may need to down cover a gap in each shelf to prevent things falling down the hole. Lastly putting on the top. Hope this helps,
I know exactly how you feel! I am going through some home repairs and moving all my art supplies out of my house into my garage where my new studio will be! It’s hard work and a big mess!
Yes I agree, I don’t think you should be down there til the mold is all mitigated. It’s not good for you to breathe that. Stay out til it’s done, maybe you could set up a small folding table outside in the shade. Maybe on a deck? Wow, I’m thankful for the guy who built my house, he had tiling put around the whole house and the property all drains away from the house. Looks like a costly project, is any covered by homeowners insurance?

Omg sherry so sorry your going through all that. My daughters bedroom in her flat is awful with mold. She has treated it with more stuff than you can imagine, makes no difference. Turns out its the exterior of the building thats had water running down for years and done all the damage. She is looking for somewhere else to stay as she's lived there for 8 years. It has affected her health so much with constant chest infections etc etc. Please take care and dont worry about us we understand xx

I'm so glad that you are okay, I was really getting worried that there was no video's from you in nearly 3 weeks. We had to do the same thing with our basement right after the house was built. They had poured our basement in 3 shots of end concrete and it cracked from from corner to window on every wall. That black mold you showed should have had you outside of the house till it was cleared. Go see your doctor please to ensure you are okay, please, please, please. Take care and good luck. :)

I'm glad you are well, but can't you wear your PPE when you are down there? We don't want you to get sick when you are trying to do so much. That would really be crappy.
I saw in the comments where @joanboots5381 suggested putting wheels ( maybe locking ones? ) on the bottom of your new cabinets. I think it would be great. You could just push the ones out of the way that you're not working with, and focus on what you're doing. It's a stellar idea.
The only thing I suggest is while your work station is being replaced, ALL the ideas in your little head could be written down so you can pick from the best ideas when it's time to christen your new digs. 😊
