"Completely Modernized" means it's ruined to me. If I'm buying a castle, the only modern things added to it better be plumbing, electricity, and MAYBE central heating. Why the hell would you make any room resemble something you can find in a hotel or apartment?

Plumbing and wiring means it is a house and not a castle.
If you want it to be a castle then you have to go native and ensure that it is of the standards of the middle ages.
I want a strait up authentic castle. No heat, to electricity, water comes from a well out front, your toilet is a bench with a hole in it that just dead drops down to a sece pit. I wanna be having to snipe Danes with a long bow every morning to make sure it doesn't get sieged before I go have breakfast.
Now that's the castle life....
Its also not completely modernized until i have surface to air missiles, artillery that shoots 155 shells, chaff jammers and a railgun

About a Castle, its not in haw much it cost to buy, but haw much it cost to maintain its structures.And there are laws and laws to obey, deal with all king historical fuss and so on,and pay the ownership taxes, ect. Buy a castle, good luck. TH

I think you could build a modest square box chateau for around two million dollars with a few acres of land around it, depending on where you'd built it. Two levels, around 16-20 rooms, high ceilings. You would need to do the interior decorating and landscaping yourself and you could run it as a BB.

When I'm older I'm going to purchase a cheap peace of land and build my own castle by hand idk how long it will take i will be an 89 year old living in his completed castle

i would love to live in the last castle featured, but really and medieval building would do. five million isn't too bad, just 40 years of long-term compounded investments. this would need to be your dream from a young age, and if you wanted to achieve it you'd need to stay committed for many years. by the time you're expected to die, it may be in that castle you used to fantasize about.
Living in a castle or palaces , in this manner , is different from others so may palaces in romantic age did important.
