- share a beautiful winter day at my little off grid cabin . I cook some blueberry pancakes at the out door kitchen , then do a little wandering with the dogs ,show you a nice camp site and have a campfire . finish it all off with an awesome dinner with Tina. and of course some dog fun !

I could spend some time living that way! I grew up with no running water or electricity every summer! Took baths in a run tub and used an out house. Ran around the woods with no fear! It is a wonder I never got attacked by a wild animal!! Loved it!! I love watching these types of videos! Thanks for sharing!

I so much appreciate this video, I love the outdoors and that winter beauty. And you sure know how to live right my friend. Nothing better than cooking outside. I lived in Canada for a couple of years and truly loved it! Had to move back to Florida. Finished my boat building career, after 35years of fiberglass boats I'm done. @@blackspruce1861 I can't but I'm 73 years old and I have a couple family members around here I rely on. So Cal horrible place. I did live in Wasilla, Alaska for 3 months in the summer of 1990. I flipped out when the sun didn't go down, they put me on Prozac and Xanax and all the neighbors got together and bought me and my son airplane tickets to come back to California. It was such beautiful country but my brain couldn't rationalize the Sun not going down and coming up like I grew up with...

This is a wonderful "slice of life" video, and I hope to see more of its type on this channel, which overall, I have NOTHING but praise for thus far!
I've watched most of your previous videos because they were informative, and practical/useful to me and my personal interests in wanting to improve my own skillsets regarding construction and handiness in general. I first watched because I wanted to learn something, but ended up being pleasantly surprised by how much character was present within your presentation and overall style.
THIS VIDEO, has all of that same character and likeability that is present in your previous videos, but is without the same sense of seriousness/practicality/purpose I originally tuned in for. This video achieves the same effect, but with a more passive or leisurely approach, and with even more of your personality coming through.
It may sound crazy, but believe me when I say that others will agree: Watching this is incredibly satisfying... Its hard NOT to smile when you're watching somebody casually enjoy the fruits of their hard labor. The wintery beauty of this particular day (that you've so graciously shared with us), is simply your "reward" that has been earned through all of your pervious work. Plus, just as a side note... your ability to capture and then share the "essence" of what makes a Day "Great," is a testament to your ability in video editing/presentation, but also to your overall relatability and authenticity. It's very clear that you not only talk the talk, but can walk the walk. This is good content through and through. Cheers and Keep on Keeping on!

Just a suggestion for easy breakfast, stir fry dough flour with some unsalted butter and brown sugar until the flour turn light brown. Store the fried flour in a empty coffee can. When served, just mix hot water with the fried flour in a bowl and make it thick to eat it like a soup. That’s Chinese farmers food. Try it.

I made one of those charcoal starters in 8th grade metal shop at Clark Lane Junior High School 1981 in Waterford, Ct. we all got to make one out of sheet metal. my dad used it for years! they work great.

well to be honest this is just a little getaway cabin . so not so challenging but still very nice way to spend some time . i could definitely see living off grid full time as very peaceful ,and challenging until you got the set up complete

Not sure how to send a pix but my cabin in north Michigan runs off solar. Have a simple adjustable mount/frame I made for my panels. Never have snow stick to them and we're in the heavy lake effect area. Spring-summer-fall they are at the correct angle to the sun. Happy to share.

You can make blueberry syrup by boiling your blueberries in a little water. As a little corn starch slurry and sugar. It’s so good!
that does sound good I've got several trees tapped now for some fresh maple syrup
