You know if this game was a 3-in-1 variety pack with Wreak-It-Ralph being Wreak-It-Ralph, Hero's Duty being a FPS where you climb a tower to win the medal, and Sugar Rush being like Mario Kart, this would have been a good game.
A Wreck-It Ralph game has SO much potential. It still has a level based system with maybe 12 levels, each leavel representing an arcade, (except longer of course), but instead of the same 2d platformer, each arcade would have different gameplay and graphics. Imagine one moment your playing a shooter and all the sudden your playing a candy themed racing game then a pixel 2d platformer. To add to that, the final boss would just be a remix of all the gameplay styles the game offered, instead of just a "press this button to punch to drain the bosses health". I know I shouldn't expect that from a old early 2010 game, but its still a shame they decided to come up with this lazy slop.
Honestly, I think there’s a few red flags with the game. 1. It was only on Nintendo consoles but not Wii U despite that coming out the same year so why not have it be on 360, PS3, Wii and Wii U with seperate Handheld ports instead? 2. They should’ve taken the Fix it Felix game from the movie and made a actual game for digital storefronts which would’ve made me less pissed of the lack of a WIR 360/PS3 port. 3. Make it 3D 4. Have actual cutscenes

For the DS version of Wreck It Ralph, they should’ve gotten Altron, a company who’s known for making GOOD adaptations of shows and movies into Nintendo DS games. The Phineas and Ferb series are a prime example of this. All of them are really fun experiences. And, the Wii version should’ve gotten the team behind the Across the 2nd Dimension (console version) game instead.
As someone who unfortunately played the game in my DS when I was about 8 I can confirm and agree with everything you said. Also after the first cut scene switching to the bad PowerPoint presentation gave me whiplash.
Imagine if they had done 2D platforming levels with this gameplay but with the pixel art of the Fix-It-Felix arcade, then you go through an on-rail shooter of Hero's Duty and finally Sugar Rush racing. Sure it would have been a lot to ask for, there's different budgets and plans... but they had done good tie-in games before this one, like Ratatouille, Cars, Wall-E, Toy Story 3 on PS3. The missed potential of tie-in games and movie-based games, even to this day (looking at you Trolls Remix Rescue on PS4)
This is literally what i mean, Wreck-It Ralph had so much potential for a video game, the possibilities were endless but they settled for Data Design level slop
yeah, I legit don't understand why they just didn't go with pixel art they could have at least added the same gameplay in the arcade game shown in the movie as a minigame.
The fact epic Mickey 2 came out the later the same year with wreck it Ralph earlier and the quality of that game and series was way better than this game shows they cared for epic Mickey because it was successful but didn’t care for Ralph but I still can’t wait for the epic Mickey remake

I remember renting this from a redbox one time, and I finished it, which just shows how short this game is. I'd say the length is comparable to Super Mario Land 2. However, that game has the excuse of being on a GAMEBOY cartridge, and unlike this game, Super Mario Land 2 is actually a good platformer.
I'm going to be completely honest, during the difficult financial struggles from family during my entire childhood, I asked for this game after watching the first film when it came out, and I remember receiving the game (DS port), and I was really disappointed at how short and empty it felt playing, I forgot about this game years ago, now I'm 19, and this video brought back so many painful memories, thank you. @@Pe_ikireally?
They spent all of their budget on the intro scene 💀
I’ve noticed in the comments section that people are saying the “Fix-It Felix Jr.” official arcade game is so much better, which it obviously is.
I guess I just remember playing an app version of it on someone’s iPad back when the movie was still trending. 🙂
You’ve unlocked a very, very, very old memory from like late 2012 of me playing this game in my mother’s bedroom.
My friend and I smashed this game after I started to notice a crack on the disc. It's still hung on a wall like an animal
Sloth: I’m going to risk it, I’m gonna play on a Steam Emulator

This game disrespects the movie
This “game” disrespects games
You know what else disrespects this movie? The sequel, of course.
@@crazycockatoo5816That so called “sequel” was so bad it destroyed any enjoyment I got out of the first movie.
I really didn't think the sequel was that bad, idk why people don't like it so much
I rwmber buying the DS version as a kid with the hopes it would include the arcade game from the movie. That's all it had to do really and it was such a letdown not having that.
I remember this game being a lot better as a kid
IF ONLY I KNEW SOMEONE WITH A MAGIC REPAIRING HAM-
I'm so glad Hiccup found work after the How To Train Your Dragon series as a RUclipsr.
Bro this is the third time someones commented this 😂
i gotta rewatch HTTYD to see what y’all mean this is too funny
@@mondopatrick For true context, listen to his voice, his lines, and rewatch the videos you were called Hiccup in. That'd be my takeaway. You unintentionally sound like him without trying.
Edit: In a good way, your voice is super cool.
@@PotaraGuyThats so funny, ill be sure to watch them i only ever saw the first and second in theatres when i was a kid
Man it's been like 12 and still rewatching it again sheesh You got to have some time to admire the movie and works it's was like the best video game movie in its time or the 2010s
I love the commentary, and your voice... I have no clue why, but it reminds me of Yakko from the Animaniacs, which I also love, so consider me subscribed lmao-
Hahaha Thank You!
This is one of those “game you’d buy at the bottom of a thrift store” type games
IF ONLY I KNEW SOMEONE WITH A MAGIC REPAIRING HAM!!! 🍖
this game is one of my core memories
"I was in third grade when Wreck It Ralph came out." "All the way back on Windows 7."
Oh my god. I'm getting old.
Very entertaining video by a VERY unpopular channel. Hope you grow big
Thank You !
"Budget cuts."
-Announcer from BFDI
I have this game on 3DS and decided to try it out and I was baffled by how atrocious it was.
This is literally what i mean, Wreck-It Ralph had so much potential for a video game, the possibilities were endless but they settled for Data Design level slop
yeah, I legit don't understand why they just didn't go with pixel art
they could have at least added the same gameplay in the arcade game shown in the movie as a minigame.
@@toadude It's funny and kinda sad too because the Wreck-It-Ralph web page HAD these 3 games you could easily click and play back then
@@MyStellarSpace if they already had minigames to work with, they could've easily ported it over to the wii. man this game had so much potential
I remember getting this on Redbox for the Wii. I just remember being so confused😭😭😭
Would be nice if he knew someone with a magic repairing ham 😞
the VIDEO GAME made about a VIDEO GAME movie fails to be a comprehensive video game?!?!? HOW
Bro i thought this was fake💀💀 how did this happen😭😭
I remember getting the DS version and I tried gaslighting myself into thinking I didn't waste money on it
me with the Atgames sega genesis
Tragic but fair
The fact epic Mickey 2 came out the later the same year with wreck it Ralph earlier and the quality of that game and series was way better than this game shows they cared for epic Mickey because it was successful but didn’t care for Ralph but I still can’t wait for the epic Mickey remake
I remember getting this on the 3ds for $10 new at target and was shocked on how short it was lmao
The meet the Robinsons game was perfect, and i will die on that hill.
2:36 what disney did to the Wimpy Kid Series.
1:13 not me not getting the satire
This video unlocked some core memories for me. Every now and then I'll look through my games and be like "Oh. The Wreck-It Ralph game" and then go find Punch-Out or a Ben 10 tie-in.
The book with no pages saying made me sub lmao!
Thats great to hear lol thank you!
I have no clue WHY, but I was fucking obsessed with this game when I was younger. I would play through it, be a dumbass and forget about it 30 minutes later, and play through again.
bro i saw a reel on instagram showing the opening cutscene transitioning into that ugly render, and for a DS game it is understandable (but still lazy LOL) but i CANNOT believe it's the same on the wii 😭😭😭😭 that is insane
Its such a shame because the Wii’s cutscenes are actually pretty good… Probrably the only good thing about the entire game along with the soundtrack
'Wreck it ralph is a movie i was surprisingly not too big on as a kid which is kind of a surprise' ,not to be a grammer kanye and I might've misheard you but if i heard right that second surprise is superfluous, great vid tho
Yeah no i totally agree with you, i caught wind of this while editing but I kinda just left it in cause i forgot about it
I remember renting this from a redbox one time, and I finished it, which just shows how short this game is.
Most honest review of a video game I ever watched
Bro you’re experience with Wreck It-Ralph at the beginning sounds like mine.
This was legitimately the first video game I ever played. I was insanely young and, for a while, I became obsessed with it (my parents almost never let me play video games at the time). Nowadays, it looks astonishingly awful, but I didn't realize that back then.
