This whole song is about global warming and neglecting environmental issues. Notice the emphasis on the celebrities and artists and the community - he is trying to say all those people are damaged and the focus is mainly on them. Whereas the world is not paying enough attention to global warming issues. That's why the song is about summer and the lyrics mention earth getting hotter every year.
Damn I never thought of that the guy in the middle made a great point. When he closes his eyes everyone looks sad and depressed. When the background turns black it represents gambino closing his eyes. But when his eyes are open everyone's having fun playing with eachother. Maybe that's a symbol that from the outside the hiphop world looks lit and everyone's putting on a facade but in reality there all depressed

This song is about world's problems such as global warming, animal extinction, water shortages. The situation is drastic, so you can feel the heat. It feels like summer, but not in a good way. Focus on the lyrics, not on which rapper is on the video.

Hes really trying to show us something.The whole idea is talking about how distracted we are by celebrity's and not paying attention to the real problems we have to face! And everyone proves it.
