      bending either of the E strings enough for them to fall off the neck, that creates a nifty sound. Try it around the frets 10-12

      Edu Ardanuy has a kind of bend that the string is pulled from out of the instrument neck. It's crazy:

      @RyanChaos.0 5 лет назад +10

      Erik Feldmann Because they didn’t invent the technique. Megadeth, and various black metal bands all used it before them. They put it to good use though.

      @@RyanChaos.0 Yeah I'd not debate that, I was just under the impression that Gojira was kind of famous for implementing that technique. Leo from Frog Leap Studios even titles this technique the Gojira Guitar Slide in this video:

Just last night, I learnt an old Skid Row solo (I remember you) with this technique in it...(the first one in your video - the right hand mute behind the fretting hand) But it was the one thing I couldn't really work out. And now, first thing this morning, my stream throws up your explanation. Perfect.
    Just this though... I don't think I have enough gain dialled in to really need it. Should I still do it?

    John 5 have some really weird techniques that he managed to use it musically, which is quite impressive in my opinion

    Haha that one at 6:20 reminds me of rehearsal with a band I used to play in. Every once in a while the drummer enjoyed to annoy our bass player who was standing close (that rehearsal space was tiny) by slapping his strings with a stick as part of a fill. :D We even thought about making that into a live gag but we didn't acutally do it.

    Worth using each & every one (maybe not the last one if like me you don't have a super-strat styled guitar).

    Syn gates quite often uses the 1st tehnique when he plays the fast legato part before the melody part from the Afterlife solo

    For so long I've wanted to understand the overhand technique, and that's all that's going on is just dampening?

    No Adam Jones pull-thru technique like on Jambi or Hooker? I'm quite sad as I think the only other guitarist I've seen do it is Devin Townsend and it sounds awesome.

    Fun fact: Most strats and teles will produce a D harmonic if you strum the G string behind the nut! I actually used it in a solo once, its a cool sound
