The Chinese title of this song is '蝉喓歌', which means 'the song of the chirping of cicadas'. In Chinese culture, cicada is the symbol of immortal and eternity, which means undying. The vocal sound in this song is called 'the Dong's Chorus', a kind of a cappella from the southwest part of China. It's a traditional music of the Dong , one of the 56 ethnics of China. This form of performance has a history of thousands of years, and is usually performed by thousands of people together.

Im sure you noticed how in the third phase there were some calmer, majestic phrases that seemed out of place. That's a motif that shows up a lot in the rest of the region and is linked with a character who fights this boss with you.

As you know, pieces like this are often written after the fact to serve a purpose. The end there is 100% to support what happens in the climax of the fight. It changes up out of necessity & makes that scene SO much better.
16:59 I dont know if you noticed this but they brought back the bass ryhtm from the first one here but alot more brighter and ofc tempo is changed but its da same rythm thats the beauty of this piece imo which is why third one is easily da best imo throwback to 3:33 its da same rythm XD

For the more epic approach, Male Roar from Dynasty Warriors 7 is the one you want. That one has almost everything you need for an epic Soundtrack.

I'd love to see what you think of the RWBY openings. You get to hear the vocal abilities of the singer grow as she ages. She starts the 1st opening at the age of 13-14 yo. 9 seasons later and that beautiful voice of hers becomes more mature and still amazing. I hope you get a chance to react to them, or at least listen to them on your own. Enjoy the ride.

@@DrumRollTonyReacts Another interesting thing is that the father of the singer (Jeff Williams) was the composer/musician/vocalist in the series who sung some of the songs with her in the OSTs. Her name is Casey Lee Williams. Her mom, Sandy Casey, sang the mother's part of one of the songs as well. Jeff retired after season 8 but Casey is co-writer for the music now.
If you ever do decide to react to it, Rooster Teeth, the production company, actually prefers that people don't alter the video or audio when they react to it. The YT bot is normally the culprit if there's an issue. Their website even has a page dedicated on how to get the video up if/when YT blocks it.

@@MrLexussPro Cocolia is also a great boss, but I like the story and gameplay of Phantilia better. I also prefer the orchestral instrumentation of Phantilia's theme more than Cocolia's theme.

Hm.. I kinda think you would enjoy "Gris, Part 2" it's short but absolutely stunning.
When this boss released, I didn't care too much for the OST and never gave it a proper listen outside of the boss fight but when they released the live version a month or two ago, I realized just how much if a banger it is.

This song does not get as much credit as the Other boss themes cause it does not have the epic drop moment. But man its a very power song if you just listen to the music alone.

I feel like you're quite good at pulling out the technical but without any emotional ties to the franchise you won't ever appreciate the heart of Hoyoverse music. Like, if you don't know what's happening during " The Final Lesson" you'd never fully feel the pulse of music. It's unfortunate you haven't played to understand what these epic characters have gone through.
That's why this channel based on first time listening surface level music analysis. Some of the stuff I do ends up being a game I eventually play or an anime I eventually watch. Not enough hours in the day to hand deep level context of everything. If someone that DOES have all that context comes in and heas some details about the piece they like, that's a win
