New subscriber, beginner sewer, came to your channel because I didn't know what an "Indie" pattern was. Now I do and I appreciate your recommendations. Also, love your delivery.
Thanks so much for doing this pattern haul, sis. I must admit that I never think of shopping indie pattern designers but I will now. OAN, love your hair! 💕💕
Wow! These are all amazing indie patterns. I love true bias patterns! I have the closet case pattern Fiore skirt. I'm looking forward to making that. I just completed my first pair of lander pants. I love those pants. FYI I really don't think you'll need to widen the pant pattern. They are pretty wide already. Great video! I like the idea of doing a pattern haul with the intentions of building a more practical wardrobe. Love this! Thanks for sharing!
I recently made the palisade pants from Papercut patterns. After making 2 muslins because I apparently have weird legs, I absolutely love them! I made a capri length in a stretch denim, and am planning on one or two long pants in this pattern as well. I did make a slightly narrower waistband with 1.5" elastic, as the one drafted seemed excessive. I may go a bit narrower next time, with 1.25" elastic.
I'm working on the sapporo coat now. I'm adding an internal ribbed cuff in the sleeves that will go to my wrist. I have other winter coats with that type of sleeve.
I also love the look of the Ogden cami but I haven't purchased it because I found the Itch to Stitch Crystal Cove Cami is excellent for large breasted women like myself. I'm also a fan of the tulip cross over at the back of the Crystal Cove cami. I have quite a few of the patterns you showed...the Sasha pants, Lander pants...haven't made them yet as my sewing list is so long!
Great choices. 3 of my favorites (and my 1st Indie pattern purchases) were by Deer and Doe 1- The Magnolia Dress 2-The Narcisse Pants 3- The Cirroco Jumpsuit. On list are more Deer and Doe and several by Sewaholic Patterns.
could you do a video on how to buy fabric? Like I am new to sewing and I want to sew more but I don't have a 'stash', and I am in college on budget both financially and space wise but I want to make my own clothes so that they fit me better and fit into my life but I feel stuck on how to start
A good way to find indie brands is instagram. If you look up any of the brands in this video, you can look at their profile and Instagram will automatically suggest other companies like them! I think any brand that's out here with a growing catalog has quality products, it's all about finding the right brand for you and your needs! Read reviews, look at other people's makes, read their website to see what's offered and give it a try!
I'm very new to sewing so it was nice to see a small selection from companies that make modern patterns. so fun!
You've made me want to take a second look at some of these patterns I've previously passed on. Thank-you. 👏👏❤️❤️❤️
The old paper cut packaging was even cuter with a hanger on it!💙💜💙❤

I'm so glad!

Thanks for that note on the Lander! I wasn't quick sure how wide it fit around the thigh. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@Stylesewme they are actually pretty loose. In fact, I went down a size because they were so loose. Any way, hope that helps.
Love your name! 😁

Thanks for that note on the elastic. I'm sure I'd like it a bit more narrow, as well!

That's going to be a cute hack! And it'll keep that cold air out!
I’ve been planning on making the Hudson pants too. Love your pattern haul.
Great haul. I've been eyeballing a few of these patterns for a while now. Maybe it's time to purchase.

I've got some Deer and Doe patterns that I haven't sewn yet, too!
Oh wow! They are really lovely designs.
Ps...Named Clothing also has some stunning patterns.

Yes, I can do a video on that!
I thought everybody else had the Ogden Camo except me, can't wait to see if you add some Style Sew Me flair to it. :-)
Haha we were both late, Sis!
Where/how do you find Indie patterns? How do you know the patterns are “well thought out”? Before you receive the pattern??

Smiling right now because I thought I was the only one who felt that way about pockets 🤪
#teamdontcareaboutpockets LOL!
I have to wait until the black friday sale
I understand! Indie pattern prices can give pause, but I've honestly found the better experience in sewing with indies.
I'm with you on 3/4 length sleeves. Can't stand them.
