A big sword doesn't mean he can generate the force necessary for island level feats. @@potatobattery4229 That's not how it works though? A building sized sword is still tiny compared to an island. Hawaii and Japan count as islands and there are thousands of buildings on them. A big sword doesn't mean he can generate the force necessary for island level feats. His best feats generate force equal to hundreds of kilotons of tnt still nowhere near enough to destroy even small islands.
@Jaron Page Jack has easily severed robots that might survive a nuclear blast with his katana, and the fact of the matter is he uses a high frequency blade. So technically, if you give him a giant blade with the same tech, he can easily cut the island.
Raiden is truly one of the best characters in all of gaming.

I think the main reason is discrepancy between Lore Shogun and Shogun in game
She has many lore-wise feats, but game itself, has nothing to back it up
Raiden in MGR in this case is complete opposite, he has not so much "pure writing lore" and just appears in games
But all feats he have, he do in actual games himself
And people place more value on accomplishments they can see and feel, rather than on accomplishments they can only read about
