They made the right decision to me.. Shows that they do actually have the power and coach fullness to make the hard decisions... Go DCC even though I’m a STEELERS FAN lol
I mean there’s no doubt she’s a beautiful dancer, but there’s also no denying that kelli and judy were biased towards her. I think by the end of training camp she had the dcc style, but they wouldn’t have given anyone else the entirety of training camp to get there.

Absolutely. One of the crumbiest displays of favoritism in any workplace is when someone is given dozens of chances beyond what others get. Her media day was terrible in not knowing the Nick Foles wasn't on the Cowboys. Her panel interview was cringe. Every guest choreographer said she was behind. Maybe by the end she improved somewhat but she had weeks of poor performance that would have eliminated anyone else. So it's unfortunate to see her supporters saying "she worked hard and improved" when literally anyone else would have been cut after 3 or 4 weeks.

I like her but most of the time it seems she was criticized more than complimented and was given way too many chances
I think the show really harped on Meredith's story to try and create a story and make people route for her. But I think it did the exact opposite and by only showing her struggles a lot of people hated on her.

The poor lady didn't deserved all the hate. I mean Savannah and Christina were also a mess in their rookie year and they turned out to be completely fine and so will Meredith
@@EmVee. I think the issues is they let go of others who were more than qualified. They go on and on about how crucial your dance ability is and they chose someone who wasn't great and let go of those who were. They chose her because she's pretty, not because she's a good dancer.

It's lovely that Meredith made the team as she worked hard and it's her dream realized, but a LOT of allowances and excuses were made for her throughout. We all know that most girls who messed up their media training or were continually behind on the beat etc...would have been sent home packing in the earlier weeks of TC.

I’m sure that’s the train she’s rode on for her entire life. Extra pretty people get privileges. That’s the way the world works. No matter how glamorous they portray this journey, she struggled from start to finish. It gives me anxiety just watching her. Tears and troubles all round.
Yes but she was the most stunning on the team and looks do matter. They make a lot of money off the field because of these women when they're not dancing and people don't want to pay to see someone mediocre looking as shallow as that sounds. My friend does marketing for the Cowboys and that season she was the most requested for photos at events.
Everyone saying Meredith would’ve made a better Rockette seems to forget that her issues aren’t only that she’s not experienced in the DCC style, it’s that she even admitted herself she’s not good at picking up any choreography on the spot which is crucial if you’re going to be any kind of professional dancer. It’s obvious that it’s not only that DCC isn’t her style, it’s that she’s inept at picking up choreography and remembering it. I’m surprised no one mentioned how ditzy she comes across during training camp, I mean for an organization that prides itself on having intelligent women you’d think they would’ve talked to Meredith about she comes across so clueless. What I still don’t understand is how she thinks she’s worked so hard for it when she had a whole year to take Pom and hip-hop classes and didn’t. I think she’s used to getting by on her looks because she really isn’t not nearly as hard of a worker as she seems to believe herself to be.

I do believe Meredith is talented and beautiful but she annoyed me throughout the entire season. Like there was minimal improvement after every office visit and Kelly and Judy gave her too many chances for her excuses.
Yep, a lot more girls got sent home for smaller mistakes and had a lot less chances than she did

Jeon Jungkook i would never say she made it for those reasons but also I don’t get why she was kept on for so long like she kept making mistakes and not showing much improvement I think they just really wanted her on the team

Other judges have girl crushes, that's not why. It's because her technique is flawless, she's insanely beautiful, inside AND out, she worked so hard and improved constantly and she just has that extra special something.

@@lacymacdougall9660 other judges are not the director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Who Kelli is played a huge part in why Meredith continued to get chance, after chance, after chance.
The other judges can give their 2 cents, but at the end of the day Kelli and Judy decide who get cut. Kelli's "girl crush" 100% saved Meredith the entire season.
I believe Meredith is extremely talented and obviously gorgeous.... but I don't think any other girl in her shoes would have made the squad

Maddie’s first year when she was crying on her first night in training camp and Melissa comforted her (and later on confirmed that she has a crush on Maddie) didn’t help her at all at the end. She was cut her first year for some minor issues, nothing even remotely close as an issue as something Meredith was struggling with. So this shows that even tho Melissa had a crush on Maddie she didn’t make it her first year because obviously the guest judges aren’t the ones making the final decisions.
Saw her mess up on game day and my jaw dropped. It’s just her looks smh

I would love to see a Rachel W Journey, she's been with DCC for 2 years and yet you hardly ever see her or hear anything about her. I think she is a beautiful woman and she is an amazing dancer with a sweet personality.
She was a Clemson Tiger Gal. Don’t know for how long. I agree she is beautiful. Hope she is point next year.
She was also Miss South Carolina and has been the point for two seasons. Maybe she prefers not to be in the spotlight 🤷🏾♀️
I'm a fan of Meredith but I've literally seen no one else in DCC history that Kelli Finglass pushed through so hard with such minimal improvement than Meredith. Meredith was the total package in some ways but in some ways not. I really hope Meredith improved a lot this past year and will also be able to show us how much she's improved whenever we get to see her next.

Tracy Lee jealous much? It's okay, not everyone can be as beautiful as Meredith. She's beautiful on the inside too, as Kelli said "she has a beautiful soul". You should try being nice, it's a lot easier than being mean and petty and resentful.

I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve to be in the team but she should’ve gotten cut before some other girls she never had a good day in training camp and all the guest choreographers never really said anything great about her she had minimal improvement and had the most office visits while some girls had one office visit and would get cut like it never made sense to me why keep her she wasn’t ready
I agree and felt this way while watching this season.
Sometimes having the right look and attitude will take you farther than your performance.
Perfection 0910 agreed but when a brand “prides” themselves in being the “best of the best” or “the toughest audition” I don’t believe you should be given infinite allowances. They reiterate over and over you have to be perfect. It definitely shows she wasn’t ready when she was given the spot and went on to mess up choreo in the first game in their career.
I read somewhere that her boyfriend is friends with the owner of the team. 🙊 not sure how accurate it is though
Meredith made the team because she was meant to and what is meant for her, will not pass her by!
I love how the girls always support each other and there’s like no hate or bad blood between them!

I would love to see Lacey's Journey.
The problem with that is they didn’t really focus on Lacey much during her time on the time. All of these clips are from the show.
I honestly think the “problem” was just how she IS, not her dancing at all!! I feel a lack of energy even when she talks in the interviews and when they called her in the office she barely reacted “fighting for it” like other girls do. She has a different type of personality, more relaxed, so she just lacks the energy to follow those routines like the other girls, she just does it in her style (which is not necessarily bad or worse).
But to be fair she was trained in a different style of dancing. I believe she is a ballerina. But I do think she got lucky to make the team and she should have gotten cut. She’s an awesome dancer. But just not with the style that’s required of her to be a dcc

I believe she made DCC in the first place because she was pretty and they couldn’t decide who to cut. But she shouldn’t have made the team in the first place, and would be better off elsewhere in ballet
i honestly feel so bad for meredith. i know that many comments are valid and not explicitly trying to be mean, but if she reads the comments on this video i would feel absolutely devastated for her. i can't imagine working so hard for something and seeing hundreds, if not thousands, of people saying you didn't deserve it. it's really sad.

I definitely agree, I wish people would blame dcc more because at the end of the day, they allowed meredith on the team. The hate needs to go more towards the issue of favorism in the dcc and how their standards when down. I mean the dcc wants to be portrayed as a selective group of an amazing dancers who work hard and are amazing. But they let certain people to slip by. Also why did the dcc post so many videos about meredith struggles with little to no improvement shown in these videos? Seems like they are asking for the hate on meredith.
@@_bupe425 I'm pretty sure 90% of the people in the comment section do nothing extraordinary that others can't do 😂. Nor are thousands of people giving them negative critiques.
I think Meredith gets a bad reputation because we see her get so many second chances in the show. But I think it just goes to show that the DCC selection process isn't 100% objective. Sometimes they really are more willing to work with certain girls than others.

They change the uniform for literally every girl. Every uniform is tailored/cut/altered to fit each girl specifically.

And the producers select exactly the cuts they want you to see and make those into a story. This could be a similar story for others, they just didn’t have the video to put together.
I said it and I’ll say it again she only got where she is right now because Kelli favored her, people had gotten cut for things extremely minor compared to her constant mistakes it’s honestly a joke
she got where she is now because she worked her ass off day and night. they don’t just look for girls who can get it on the spot they look for dedication and work ethic. it is not just a team it is a job

The story around Meridith is interesting...rumors about her dating someone who is well acquainted with Jerry Jones. The fact that she makes continuous mistakes on the field, apparently witnessed by people in the comments section. Of course knowing people in power is an asset. However, the show has made it apparent that there is a significant difference in treatment between the girls who are well connected or exceptionally young (less skilled) vs. those with talent.
She's one of the most talented and trained dancers on the team. Her technique is flawless.
i've seen a couple plaza performances of her group, and she looks amazing! she defined the hate.

Meredith was bottom, as she had been most of training camp and so they changed the game to make a square peg fit a round hole. She is more talented than I will every be, but that doesn't change she did not fit the DCC style and got more chances than any other girl, ever

She tried to and got cut
To me Meredith struggled with the DCC choreography and she just didn’t fit into the DCC style with her dancing. She has beautiful technique but just not in this squad. The blatant favoritism was very disappointing. There were better dancers than her for sure.

There is no doubt that Meredith is stunning but boy did she struuuggle. DCC needs versatile power dancers that can pick up choreography quickly and she is not it. I was very meh on her all the way through but the way she interacted with the veterans was totally amazing. That changed my mind 180 on her. You still need to dance to back that up though and now we know that she couldn't in the long term.
I feel like Meredith would perform better on the Dallas Cowboys dance team or dancing for the Dallas Stars Ice Girls

There’s no jealously of her making the team..I get it she improved at the end. Yet, many girls have done much better in training camp and thats including veterans who have been cut due to sloppiness. I really believed she wasn’t ready but we will see this next season...
I agree with you. I want the best for her. I really hope that she can be even better this year. I don’t want to see her go home. She has to be able to keep up with the dances in training camp this year or she’s going to get cut. She got by because she was rookie and they took a chance on her. She can’t get away with it this season being a veteran. She really needs to take dance classes in other forms of dance so that she can stay with the DCC. I really hope she has.

This is funny. The only reason Meredith made the damn team is that she a) looks like Megan Fox and b) her boyfriend's family is friends with Jerry Jones. Her inclusion on the squad could only be more transparent if it was a piece of Saran Wrap. She doesn't deserve a video. Sorry. Jinelle, Amy, Angela, all deserve a shout-out like this before she does.
feverspell wait when did they say those were the reasons? i was under the impression the show doesn’t feature the girls and their boyfriends and include them in the process. is it possible people just researched who she was dating and decided that was an excuse for why she made the team?
@@duchess8070 People think like that because, at least from what was featured in the show, she was given a lot more chances than any of the other girls that got cut, and also because from what we saw, her mistakes were a lot more noticeable. Then again, we weren´t there, so we can only know what is shown to us, but from what we saw.....she was the weakest link.

I can sew, as in fixing a rip or replacing a button, but clothes for humans? Nah. I'm fifty-one-years-old and my Mamaw made almost all my clothes because she could do anything... ❤❤

Unpopular opinion here but I loved/love Meredith's journey. I'm not sure why she gets bashed so much it's not like she can't dance because she clearly can she's just a tad softer.

It's the mistakes. She can't pick up choreography to save her life. It's a very face paced learning system and she can't keep up.

I’m so sick and tired of people saying she shouldn’t have made it. She auditioned multiple times just like most of the other girls. She worked her ass off for a position in that squad, she obviously improved her skills during training camp and she continuously tried to improve herself. She maintained a strong amazing attitude while always under scrutiny from everyone around her, she and Lily both earned their support from their team. Yes she’s Kellis girl crush, yes she’s beautiful and those both were big factors in her making the team, but so was her work ethic and her ability to perform. She deserves to be a DCC.

In my opinion she shouldn’t have made it. She struggled with the choreography and looked off to me while dancing. She just didn’t have the DCC style. The favoritism was blatant. I was very disappointed:

she is an amazing dancer but the judges did say that she was very pretty and you can tell that it's saving her. Howerever it doesn't take away the fact that she is a very good dancer.
I completely agree. She’s a well-trained dancer, but she’s just not naturally very good at this style of dancing and clearly isn’t used to projecting her presence. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s hard to do if you haven’t been extensively trained in that specific style. She just doesn’t have the power and dynamic style that the other dancers have. They cut dancers who were better than her because she has the look they want. I’m sure she’ll get it figured out eventually, but she just doesn’t have it right now and it’s clear they kept her because she’s one of those girls they think will be ready later but might not try out again. She’s a great dancer, she really just needed another year.

I think it's because people just felt like she wasn't ready to be on the field. She made it as a vet over girls who did better than her. She is stunning and seems like a sweet woman. I gotta admit I felt bad for her when they cut her as a vet. At least she is a DCC alumni now.

I mean Victoria actually has a good story to tell. Merideth didn’t deserve this she always made mistakes and only made the team because of her looks all they showed was that she didn’t deserve to be on the team.

I hate seeing viewers have such strong opinions like “she sucked. She shouldn’t have made it” when once again this is reality TV so a lot of it can be editors to make one person look a certain way. From the looks of it she didn’t look too strong. But I think it was harder to let her go because her technique was amazing and she danced so beautiful when it was her genre. It was just the DCC style that got the best of her but hard work gets you there and she worked so hard. I’ve seen some of her performances as a DCC, and she looks good to me!
It seems like it just take her awhile to pick up on choreography.. probably why she didn't make it in New York. Have to be able to see it and repeat it
It could be editing in some places but I’ll watch full routines of the girls on game day and she sticks out like a sore thumb... in a bad way. Can’t edit that.

I've been watching the whole DCC playlist of "then and now." For almost every cheerleader, the comments are almost universally positive and supportive. This impressed me because I expected there to be some ignorant stereotypical comments about cheerleaders being airheads etc. Meredith's is the 2nd "then and now" I've seen where there is a lot of negativity. (The first was Judy's daughter Cassie.) The most common complaint seems to be that people think Meredith received favourable treatment. Do you think that Meredith was more favoured than Lily, for example?
There is a "then and now" of Lily as well.
Meredith had an impeccable dance technique which Kelli and Judy were able to appreciate for what it was. She did not have training in the type of dancing required by DCC. I agree that she could have taken classes in the year in which she did not make it onto the training squad, but we don't know what else was going on in her life during that year, either.
Melissa Rycroft has worked with numerous of these young ladies who needed a bit of extra help to make the squad. Eg. Christina, Lily, Yuko. I don't see why Meredith is different from them.
I don't think Meredith is used to getting by on her looks at all because she said when she moved to New York after earning a college degree in dance, she did not get any role that she auditioned for. The job in Guam, which is a tiny isolated island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, was not prestigious, although it sounds like she had fun, and it was a good learning experience.
I think Meredith deserves the benefit of the doubt as much as any of the other young women. I'm really impressed with everybody's commitment, professionalism and passion!
The first thing anyone says about Mérida is how beautiful she is. Everyone said it. I think the best thing you can say about a woman is how intelligent and kind and strong they are. Then they can be pretty.

Thank you for this video of Meredith. She was an underdog for sure, but she triumphed in the end. I'd rather see a woman whose personality and vulnerability shines through than a simply perfect automaton. And I will say this: If there's a modern-day "Helen", Meredith's face could "launch a thousand ships". She's simply the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I only feel bad for her that the season got cut short because of the pandemic. I hope she returns for the next squad.

Meredith has that classy maturity and integrity which is very rare among girls, no wonder they liked her so much and wanted to keep her up to the end! Loved this Meredith! Really wonderful personality!!!
I'm glad Meredith made the team. She didn't give up on herself or her dream. She took good instruction and worked hard to make the adjustments. She looked from within for strength as well as good counsel from the other squad members.
