My dad was in the FBI and was transferred constantly. He worked in Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis and finally Fargo. His biggest cases were the Rosenbergs, Morris Childs (he was his handler), the Virginia Piper Kidnapping on the Iron Range and when in Fargo Wounded Knee. I was born in Chicago but grew up in Fargo. My dad was a tough old hombre. Sometimes he'd take me on cases have me wait in his bland government issued sedan while he checked out seedy recorded stores for counterfeit 8-track tapes. I remember another time when my dad took me along when he scoped out Gus Hall's residence in Northern Minnesota. Strange things happen in Northern Minnesota.

Wrench and Numbers are indeed signing for real. Russell Harvard (Wrench) is a deaf actor, he and an ASL coach and interpreter worked closely with Adam Goldberg for several months on translating their dialogue into ASL exchanges, with the coach on hand to tell show runner Noah Hawley when one of the actors had fluffed a line. Hawley also lives near the Texas School for the Deaf, which is where he found inspiration.

    FRR !!
The pace does fall back somewhat during two and three, from what I remember, but the crazy is far from over. Living up here in MN, it’s a kick having shows set in this delightfully peculiar sub-culture. I drove through Bemidji a couple of weeks ago, and spotted no particular malfeasance, to borrow a word from Marge Gunderson.

The big supermarket chains in North Dakota and Minnesota are CUB and Cash Wise. My parents loved Cash Wise. Cash Wise is centered in Fargo.

31:38 It depends on the temperatures in the winter. My dad took me to a lake in Minnesota, "As the ice was going out." I think it was it late March. There was still lots of snow, but the ice made odd sounds at night creaking and groaning.

The big thing in the Fargo area is round cinnamon bread (it has to be round) that is toasted with a spreading of Cheeze Wiz. Hornbacher's was a grocery store in the Fargo-Moorhead area that sold round cinnamon bread. Haven't been in Fargo since my dad died, going on twenty years.

Minnesota, "Land of 10,000 Lakes" - The average ice-out date for lakes in the northern half of Minnesota is April 24 but has been as early as late March and as late as mid-May.

Season one is the best IMO. There is a lot more Billy Bob, and many more completely out there situations in the future. There are many twists and turns that are completely nuts and hilarious. Wait until Key and Peele show up!

Each season of the show is its own story, but they are connected.
    The dad, running the dinner?
He is the main character in Season 2. About 40 years before season 1. So keep attention to the details, as stuff will come back from where you least expect it, even in later seasons.

@@KillstormSH Hardly. It's the least spoilery connection between the seasons.
I think, before you have watched both season 1 & 2, it's not spoiling anything.
It feels like a big spoiler because you know what happened. Actually calling it a major spoiler is a bigger spoiler than me saying that the character is in both seasons.
