I do hope that the Kingdom Hearts Anime Movie will adapt the story of the 1st game, but it will make a lot more sense. And if this movie is a success, maybe Kingdom Hearts 2 will have an anime adaptation at some point. I wonder if it will be animated by Disney, Mappa, Studio Wit, Clover Works, Toho Animation, Studio Trigger, Ufotable or A1 Pictures.
Dude, the animation from FF7 Advent Children still looks pretty good going on 20 years after release, i cannot fathom why they wouldn't just let square animate it themselves
If were changing stuff I know how they can make the opening of the movie. You show Lion King and Simba chilling in the jungle when heartless attack and devour his world, then you cut to the KH opening and dive to the heart, then Destiny Islands. Reason I say Lion King should be the opening is because most people know about it, and most people love it, so that would be best "twist" at the start of the movie to hook people who are not into KH for the movie.
DisInsider is literally one of the least trustworthy leakers. Last year they claimed that Disney is making a live action Tarzan adaptation, which contradicts the announcement of Sony acquiring the rights to make one a year prior.
Imagine if they brought back the cast of Pirates of the Carribean and recreated several shot for shot scenes from Curse of the Black Pearl and At World’s End but then inserted Sora, Donald and Goofy into them.
I hope they'll do adaptation to all the Kingdom Hearts games in the Dark Seeker Saga and have every Disney and Pixar world that appeared in the series so far. I also hope it'll be anime.
KH2.5 had a coded movie Even at 3 hours and that wasn’t even structured for a general viewing How do you make a more coherent movie without having a 3+ hour animated movie? It’s not possible Kingdom Hearts would work better as a television show
I have zero faith in modern Disney to do anything good with Kingdom Hearts. Besides they scrapped an animated Kingdom Hearts show way back in 2003 because they had little faith in it. Now that all their movies are flopping in theaters, they've decided to make a quick cashgrab with the KH license. I expect Kairi will be the new lead. LMAO.
If this end up being true, then I just hope they're able to make the movie actually good. Stick to the story and characters without making it as confusing as the games, especially if it's a movie and not a series (which would work much better imo). A self-contained story is the best way they could take a movie to me.

Not only are they making a Kingdom Hearts movie, you’ll be required to watch it in order to understand Kingdom Hearts 4.

Grew up playing the games while watching Naruto. The stories of Naruto and theme always felt just so similar. KH anime would be a dream come true
