Yeah, I’ve had that happen in the past. I bought some of the locking S biners which are good (NiteIze I think they are) but still quite a lot bigger than these Temu cheapies 🤷♂️
I haven’t bought anything from Temu, but I use Aliexpress every so often. I usually get really cheap versions of things for several of my hobbies to see if I want/use the thing before investing money into something from a decent brand. I haven’t had any issues. I’ve bought fishing stuff, leathercraft tools and fasteners, camping cookware, woodworking hand tools and even pocket knives. As long as you have proper expectations for the quality (or lack thereof) and time it will take for stuff to ship, why not try it 🤷♀️
Yeah, Temu doesn’t seem to have much of the known better quality Chinese stuff, like Roxon, Nextool, Nitecore, etc., etc. seem to be missing from Temu. 🤷♂️
Occasionally some Temu stuff is the same and you can get a deal coz they’ve mass imported. But yeh not great. At least refunds are easy. Ali is a mixed bag but most the time it’s the same stuff you see on Amazon for 5x the price anyway.
The little LED lights often don't draw enough power to keep a power bank turned on, so they only work properly in a completely dumb power bank or one that has a low power mode for charging earbuds and the like. I bought a few myself but to be honest I never use them because I've always got a Rovyvon in my pocket. And why do those charging leads always have lightning connectors? I like the leads that are made for people like me who are completely allergic to Apple products ha ha.
Ah, that would make sense then about those USBC lights i got not working very well. I tried one in a wall plug last night & it was absolutely fine so that must be it. Thanks for the info. I, too, always have a small torch as well but I'll keep these little usb lights handy for going camping & stuff like that. I have some Apply stuff & some non-Apple so this cable is a good idea in theory for me. Its a bit bulky though & not fast charging, so nice idea but not brilliant in use. Oh well, I guess that's what you get for spending £2 i suppose :o)
How are you sure it's not a fast charging cable and what for you is fast charging? There are a lot of standards? Also, there are USB devices that can test this actually.
You’re quite right and I think I might have been a bit too hard on this £2 cable - I’ve had it for a few days now and it’s actually not too bad: I was a bit too hasty in my initial judgement I think. I have got a couple of apps that tell me charging info so I will test it properly and do an update.
The s beniers can slip off, but at the price, you can simply double up in case one fails.

Great & very sensible comments - thank you for sharing! If your expectations aren't too high i think these sort of sites can have some ok stuff :o)
It's different with temu. From my experience, the quality is often so bad that the stuff is unusable.

That’s true - Amazon is often the same price or cheaper and without having to wait 2 weeks for delivery 👍

What are "EDC" gadgets?
It stands for Every Day Carry, so items that can be useful in everyday sort of situations. Hope that helps?! 🙂

@@accoutrements4469 Thanks!
Thank you for raising this - it’ll teach me to not be so hasty in future ✌️
