@@lisachambers3683 You can bear false witness as much as you wish, I never said EGW was equal to God or Jesus, nor were the apostles. Just because some is inspired by God or Jesus doesn't make them a god or equal to God.
There were women prophets mentioned in the bible, yet their words didn't make it into the bible, does that make God a liar? What about Enoch, wasn't he inspired by God, yet his writings are not in the bible. You may not be a SDA or choose to deny the SOP, but I believe she was inspired and the writings she was given to pen were given by Jesus.
Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, AND have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 19:10 “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
What did Paul and the apostles understand a prophet to be?
4396. προφήτης prophetes, prof-ay´-tace; from a compound of 4253 and 5346; a FORETELLER (“prophet”); by analogy, AN INSPIRED SPEAKER; by extension, a poet: - prophet.

Did God lie when he said that in the last days sons and daughters shall prophesy?
I find that the inspired writings expose sins and lusts of the flesh and a reason many choose to reject it.

      Helen,
Most Adventists have no clue about the doctrine of the Shut Door. Even SDA seminary students are often not aware of it. Now that the internet and social media have brought shut door doctrine to light, Adventists now need to play defense and reckon with it. It is a terrible view and one of contempt that the early pioneers had towards others who did not accept Miller's 1844 date setting. Ellen White herself said this ungodly view of other Christians was an error:
"For a time after the disappointment in 1844, I did hold, in common with the advent body, that *the door of mercy was then forever closed to the world* . This position was taken before my first vision was given me. It was the light given me of God that *corrected OUR ERROR* , and enabled us to see the true position." Amen brother. What prophet has not been rejected or persecuted? Jeremiah was accused of being a false prophet and was thrown in a dungeon. They nearly stoned Moses to death, but he was saved by God. Jesus talks about the killing and rejection of prophets in Luke 13:34, Matthew 23: 29-37. Acts 7:52 also talks about the same issue. The rejection of EGW is not a surprise. She foretold that she would be viscously attacked. People who read her writings with an open mind conclude she is a prophet. She points us to the Bible. I now have daily devotions because of her. Before reading her books, I hardly read my Bible. My relationship with Jesus is growing more and more because she elevates Christ. Most of her critics take what they hear from others and have never read her books. I challenge you to read her books with an open mind. If she hadn't written books, there would not be help for us because most of us don't read the bible. King Jehoshephat stated, " believe God and you shall be established, believe the prophets and you shall prosper" (2 Chronicles 20:20). I am a better person today because of EGW's writings that motivate me to love my Saviour more each day and to spend quality time with him.

Instead of trying to help Ellen look biblical, just remember she was a human woman and not as SDAs think- a prophet. As a bible student every time I was learning more in the word, I had to fight against Ellen's writings to move forward in truth, finally I was released from the bondage she put over the SDAs. It is hard to come out of this cultish organization, I totally believed it and lived it until like many of the pioneers and Ellen's secretaries, I was almost driven nuts trying to reconcile the bible and what is taught there. Just stand on the word and you will not have the brain twist trying to keep from being lost questioning "the prophet" and living a standard she herself didn't live.

I rarely preach about a subject so quickly but the very next Sabbath I spoke on this topic to edify this group and review the true history and the facts surrounding it. The presentation was specifically intended for them and if anyone else had the same questions then Praise the Lord if it was a benefit to them also. There was no connection with any videos produce by other individuals. I love your I.D. by the way. The Edson story is one of my favorites in Adventist history. God gave his people the truth about the sanctuary the morning after the disappointment. Edson along with Hahn and Crosier developed the Day Star Extra of 1846 over the next year to reveal a more extensive explanation of the Sanctuary which EGW recommended to EVERY saint.

*_Those Millerites believing in the Shut door theory did not believe it necessary or possible to reach out to the lost, who had rejected Miller's final call. Salvation was only open to those who had accepted the message of William Miller_* .

So now you see that the shut door was not her invention, it was William Miller who started that. When she started having visions in late 1844, her view on that changed. It changed drastically. She no longer held the view William miller taught.
“For a time after the disappointment in 1844, I did hold, in common with the advent body, that the door of mercy was then forever closed to the world. This position was taken *before* my first vision was given me. *It was the light given me of God that corrected our error*, and enabled us to see the true position.
I am still a believer in the shut-door theory, *but not in the sense in which we at first employed the term* or in which it is employed by my opponents”. . 1SM 63.1-1SM 63.2
So you see that her first beliefs were not based on visions nor was she having visions yet. She was following the teaching of William miller. But after she started having visions in late 1844, she changed her stance based on the light God gave her. In other words, she first followed human teaching and then changed to what God taught. So I don’t see the problem with her changing her stance.
Yea she said it was an error. And God corrected that error. So I don’t see the problem.
As far as “animosity towards those rejecting millerism”, you can’t prove that. Having that erroneous belief doesn’t mean she had animosity.

This is her new stance on the shut door:
“I was shown in vision, and I still believe, that there was a shut door in 1844. *All who saw the light* of the first and second angels’ messages *and rejected that light*, were left in darkness. *And those who accepted it* and received the Holy Spirit which attended the proclamation of the message from heaven, and who *afterward renounced their faith* and pronounced their experience a delusion, thereby *rejected the Spirit of God*, and it no longer pleaded with them”. . 1SM 63.9
She learned that William miller was wrong. She then no longer believed that the world was cut off if they rejected millerism. She only believed that those who reject light, or accept light and then renounce it are those who the Holy Spirit no longer pleads with. That is what the shut door is, when the individual shuts them self off from God for whatever reason. In the chapter I quoted from, she cited a couple examples: those who didn’t get on the ark with Noah and those in Sodom who did not listen to Lot.
I don’t see the problem. Have you ever listened to someone and then found out what they taught was wrong? And then changed your stance on it?

Does that make any sense to you at all?
If the Father , Son are in unity as the Bible claims, why wouldn’t the Son know ? Continuing.
“It is thought by many, that this passage proves that men are to never know the time, But if it proves this, it likewise proves that the Son of God, himself is never to know the time; for the passage declares precisely the same concerning him, that it does concerning angels and men. But can any person believe that our glorious Lord, to whom all power in heaven and earth is given, is, and will remain ignorant of the time until the very moment that he comes to judge the world? “
“If not, then certainly this text can never prove that men may not be made to understand the time. An old English version of that passage, reads, “But that day and hour no man maketh known, neither the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”
“This is the correct reading according to several of the ablest critics of the age....”I believe the above, to be fair and correct view of the subject, and that the Father will make known the true time of the event of the advent, without the agency of men, angels, or the Son. “
Now doesn’t that make it much clearer on the Bible vs? The heavenly host and his Son, respectively, gives all honor to the Father only to make known the time.

Thats what we were called to "prophesy again" to all nations, tongues and tribes. It is the same mission that Elijah and John the Baptist did. We are also called to be the Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord (Malachi 4:5). The faithful VS the whore: Elijah VS Jezebel. John the Baptist VS Herodias. The remnant Elijah VS Papacy. Elijah upheld Christ's sacrifice (grace) and the Commandments of God (1 Kings 18:18, 30-35). So did John the Baptist. The remnant also (Revelation 14:12). It is always the same cure: return to the pure faith in Jesus (grace) and obedience to the Commandments of God (law). It's a balance between the Gospel and the Commandments. Hello this is Andre economopoulos I am sure glad that the Lord has led me to this video and it's a good reason why and maybe you might have some in your Adventist Church that may not be accepting the wrong closed-door but they're doing the closed-door a different way which is just as dangerous as I've been doing all this time and now I understand that there's no way I haven't been doing that closed or we all know that there's is such a thing in the Bible though as what they call the unpardonable sin but now I know I can't be doing the unpardonable sin when the load is leading me to things like this when I need it and though it sends me to the word and want to study more so I hope that someday the Lord can lead you to share with other people that you're finding out that there's people that are doing the closed-door a different way and that is the unpardonable sin door and I can't be the unpardonable sin door if I'm still praying and fighting things like this and want to change so thank you very much

Sermon is good and I generally agree with what was said.
The thought process of the pioneers on this matter... to be honest, this does not even make sense, if someone rejected the light prior to 1844 then afterwards studies it out, sees that it is the truth and wants to be part of the movement, is that not evidence in and of itself that God is drawings them to the truth.
Who are the earlier pioneers to say that one cannot be saved and that the door is shut to a certain group of people. The door may be shut to those who rejected the light and are no longer interested in becoming part of the movement/truth. I would say that anyone who was interested in the truth, the door is not shut to them - why? - by virtue of seeking for the truth.
You know that it is Ellen White's writing that are used to deceive others regarding the Father and Son truth - take for example the book evangelism.. the bible is clear. It would of been an easier thing for EGW to state the truth very clearly about the certain doctrines- When you watch the recent video on trinity in early Adventism - you see all the pioneers makes explicit statements, but EGW not so much.

Some of the people who established the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in 1863 were (as very young people) part of what was called the Millerite Movement and they were very disappointed in 1844 ( as were people of many Denominations) when the event that William Miller was expecting was not the Second Comming. The Seventh-Day Adventists have never made any predictions about the date for the Second Coming of Jesus. This is not to say that the Seventh-Day Adventists do not believe in the imminent return of Jesus as described in the Bible. The basic problem regarding 1844 as everybody knows, were Adventist pioneers who had no knowledge of Bible languages misinterpreting Daniel 8 :14. The word for Day in the original lanuage meaning a prophetic year was not used in that verse. Desmond Ford pointed this out in his PhD thesis in the 1970s.

    • @finalatonement1844
      @finalatonement1844 11 месяцев назад

Playing word games with the Bible is juvenile, regardless of the height of education attained. With that mindset the scribes and Pharisees rejected Christ, "can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Same with the apostles, "just fishermen, what do they know about the Law of Moses or the prophets?" Same with Amos, "just a shepherd, what does he know compared to the prophets in the kings court?" Desmond Ford put the Holy Place in the courtyard, his PhDs did little to help him sort out the planest facts of Scripture. Ford did nothing original, he merely copied A.F. Balinger.

    • @user-en3jl8gv5c
      @user-en3jl8gv5c 11 месяцев назад

@finalatonement3427 I am well aware Ford was not the first person to point out that the Investigative Judgment is not a Biblical doctrine. Before Ford the same thing was pointed out in the 1950s. Whether Ford copied the other chap isn't the most important thing, but whether both Ford and the other chap's conclusions are correct.
As for "word games" you are just trying to downplay the error the pioneers made due to their inability to read the Bible in the original languages. Even Adventist theology students have to learn Bible languages such as Koine Greek and Aramaic as part of their degree at Newbold/ Andrews University. So you're just being dishonest making out the full meaning of a translated document can be preserved in English. Anybody who has studied languages at high school knows that isn't true. William Miller only knew English.

The good news is that before Yehovahs judgment fall upon humankind there will be only one Truth. And Yehovah will show us as he promised in Jeremiah 16.
Gentiles will acknowledge that they have inherited nothing but lies. For this reason the Church of Laodicea is called to buy ointment, refined gold and white reignment from Yeshua to cover her nakedness. Revelation 3:14-22
And further on in Revelation 18:4 the call to Yehovahs people is to "Come out of her(Babylon)my people"
That warning wouldn't be given to any church or denomination if they had the true testimony of Yeshua or if they were keeping Yehovahs commandments as instructed in the Torah.
It has been a corrupted version the many churches have been following including the Adventist religion.
It is hard to assimilate , hard to accept and it's hard to leave behind long held traditions and teachings. Yet it is time to seek Truth as Yehovah and Yeshua has given truth or we will be found wanting.

You can keep trying to clean up your prophetess's embarrassing record of false visions but the facts are there for all to see.
In her First Vision she stated it clearly enough.
"It was just as impossible for them to get on the path again and go to the City, as all the wicked world which God had rejected. They fell all the way along the path one after another.” (See also A Word to the “Little Flock,” p. 14.) "
No matter how she or you try to spin it, she clearly said there that those Adventists who denied the 1844 move and all the rest of the world were lost without a chance of salvation.
She believed in the Shut Door doctrine as she has admitted but she lied when she said she had never taught as a vision from God. No wonder that passage was later deleted from her accounts of the First Vision.
She was a liar and a heretic.

William Miller must have felt very slighted by those who did not accept his calculations. But for him to come up with a pronouncement that God no longer had mercy on those who rejected his 1844 message is simply nothing more than pure spite.
What is more disturbing is for Ellen White to have a reinterpretation of this very vengeful & hateful doctrine (via a convenient vision). Not only is this distasteful but it is entirely suspect and dangerous to try and build upon a false and incorrect belief. To construct a theology based upon such an angry foundation can only reenforce an attitude of severe division. Hence we have a denomination that is hostile to other Christians to this very day.

The problem is considerably more complicated than what EGW believed. For you to take Hebrews 6 completely out of context is bogus. However, to impute a shut door impossibility for salvation to many 1000's who came to disregard 1844 as a non event, is the epitome of self-righteous judgement.
Do you realize the enormity of this kind of conclusion. A small group of a few thousand people are making this awful life long pronouncement just because others failed to believe or understand what was a huge predictive error in the first place. What NONSENSE!
The height of arrogance here is based on the vision of one man, Edson, who had a variety of strange life long beliefs which caused a schism between him and the SDA church. Does anyone not see the irony of this as he was a part of the group involved in the shut door pronouncement?? Likewise for others in the same way. The pioneers were not exactly the holy wonderful Christians the Church attempts to portray. Yet they had the audacity to condemn others to eternal hell in a shut door pronouncement.
The idea that spending all night in prayer is the key to this revelation is again nonsense. How do we know that that many of the 1000's who were also disappointed did not spend many hours in prayer, in the end, fully believing that date setting was entirely wrong which it WAS!
The Lacombe SDA church used to have a basement library of some of the oldest Adventist publications. Many of the articles are self-righteous rants about the errors of their counterparts. James White actively condemned a couple for getting married placing them in danger of judgement. About a year later, he married and managed to generate a family in less than a year of marriage.
What is far more reasonable is that this small group simply were wrong about the shut door and sought out ways to save face. Time slowly erased the problem. The so called SDA pioneers were not the holy wonderful Christians that we have perhaps been led to believe.
Closing in on 200 years now, Adventism is still without peer in understanding the great controversy. EGW has been both a help and a problem. For most of its history Adventist practiced as a cult. Now it seems that its very existence is threatened by liberal progressives. Give the history of the Israel, this should hardly be a surprise. If we believe in God, then we also necessarily believe He is in control.

Ellen white was the founder of your faith and she was a woman. Is that biblical according to the teachings in the New Testament? This must be a different faith because the true faith was there before. The founder of the true faith was Jesus and He taught it to His disciples who were then called Church of God brethren then later nicknamed christians in mockery by people in Antioch. So the true faith is found in the church of God which was not founded by a human being but Jesus the Son of God who is also God or everlasting Father as found in Isaiah 9:6

Ellen White was one person and while she contributed greatly to the early church she was not alone. Read the Great Controversy or study to understand what the "Great Disappointment" of 1844 was. Simply stating Ellen White started the SDA church is inaccurate. As a former Adventist I have no problem saying they have the truth. What they have done is allowed the LGBTQ+ community to hold positions of office inside the church and have accepted the false god of the trinity. That is why so many SDAs are coming out of the church.

Alright .now. Faith without works is a dead faith. We are saved neither by faith or works , we are saved by grace. Faith is the means to Gods grace. Works of obedience is the result of Gods grace. Works demonstrate we have been saved by grace through faith. Christs blood only can save us but the conditions for Jesus to save us are obedience to the Law otherwisebthe whole world would be saved which is not what Jessus taught.

Why do you contradict Scriptures? Yeshua didn't put any conditions for a believer to be saved other than believing in him.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Obedience to the laws isn't a condition to be saved. It is as a consequence of Your LOVE for him!
John 14: 15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
The matter that the whole world won't be saved isn't because they can't be saved but because those who will be lost "chose" to be lost. Free will, free choice.

      Faith according to Scriptures
Hebrews 11: 1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
4By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
The whole of Hebrews11 is about Faith
      Faith is Believing
If we have Faith(believe)in Yehovahs son and his sacrifice for our sins ,we are saved.
We will naturally find out from scriptures what it is that pleases him. And we will start doing those things. We will have trouble doing some things yet this doesn't mean we will be in peril of losing our salvation. As long as we keep on knowing or acknowledging that we are weak and that only through him are we made strong. Only through him are we clothed in perfection.
A believer always is on the path of transformation of his character.

How come you never used this quote
Here is another vision in which she teaches the horrible doctrine of the shut door in its very worst form, that is that after 1844 not one ray of light comes Jesus to the wicked but they are all turned over to the devil to whom they now pray instead of to God. After Jesus left the holy place she says: “ I did not see one ray of light pass from Jesus to the careless multitude after he arose and they were left in perfect darkness. . . . Satan appeared to be by the throne trying to carry on the work of God. I saw them look up to the throne and pray, Father give us thy spirit; then Satan would breathe upon them an unholy influ¬ ence.”-Early Writings, pp. 46, 47. Not one ray of light has come to sinners since 1844 but all are left to the Devil! What is the use of their denying that she taught this doctrine ? She certainly did and she knows it. This fact and the bold denial of it now, brand her as a false teacher.

For once in my life I can really understand Yeshuas Sacrifice and how all the Prophecies unfold proving the Scriptures and how the ones still not fulfilled will when Yehovahs appointed time for it is due.

EGW visions before 1844, could be true, but those after 1844 are not true, this much i can say. i dont want to delve into all of Her visions. The bible says the after 2300 day prophesy the church period ended (william miller). Laodecia was the last church even though Adventist was registered after 1844. rev 2 & 3 says there ware 7 churches laodecia was the last church. And was cursed most vehementally, rev 2:17. Therefore no more visions from christ to men/women. No more Holy Spirit, all 7 were used up in the churches. And were taken back. Rev 3:20, behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door, i will come in and sup with him. rev 4:5 .... there were 7 lamps burning.... which are the seven spirits of God. rev 5:6 .... stood a lam as it had been slain, having 7 horns and 7 eyes, which are the 7 spirits of God, sent into all the earth. the spirit of God cannot be after 1844, after the end of 7 churches. each church had a separate spirit of God. rev 2:7, to Ephesus, rev 2:11 to Smyrna, rev 2:17 to Pergamos, rev 2:29 let him hear what the spirit (singular to Thyatira), rev 3:6 to Sardis, rev 3:13 to Philadelphia, rev 3:22 to Laodecia.

i saw this video, bunch of bogus material. but one thing is sure, shut door. the door was shut at the flood, not just the door of ark. to the people of before the flood the door was shut. their salvation was not available to them. Just like in Eden, Adam and Eve and their descendants were not allowed back into Eden. At sin in eden, adam did not have any descendants. I am glad william miller, and others shared this view even for a second. While egw recanted william did not and He never became an advetist. Now I know why. Egw just brandished Her swords which was visions. All the leftover believers were superseded by EGW visions. In those days as people were grappling with the truth of christ second coming. even Joseph white was cowed by his wife like jezebel did
ahab. I will leave the shut door doctrine alone for now, but deal with the dynamics between the pioneers, and their ideas. I have this happen even now.
