i think the makila to be perhaps the greatest evolution of a walking stick one can imagine, and it's symbolism is extremely powerful. i also own the product of this workshop-- i will say it is beautiful. but in my experience, they do a less than honest business. there are at least two other workshops with videos on you tube about making makila, and a third that doesn't have one posted that i've seen. give Them your $1000. even if there is a wait, at least you won't feel like someone conned you. also, your bank won't warn you against doing business with them before hand.
