Hope you get that cake of wool sorted years ago when i use to knit i use to buy polythene bags with random wool all in what look unwindable but it very inexpensive an looked decent wool but my goodness was it a task to sort out but were so pleased with myself when it were done an still carried on buying it ❤x

Try and cut a toilet roll in two and put it on the end before you start winding, thats what I did with mine and put a bit of tape round the edge

I could tell by the part of the cast on edge that i could see that it was machine knitted, looked exactly what my machine used to make..
