Update 22 Jan: Since the latest update an additional port is required to be opened on your firewall. TCP Port 16129. I was getting the error "Flux is not confirmed. Flux is running with limited capabilities". So make sure you open that port and then reboot your node. If your node has expired (like mine had) then load up your Zelcore wallet, go to Apps, FluxNodes and then click "Start" and wait for it to start back up. Update 1: As @rizcastrojr346 has mentioned there is a halving coming up this February. No plans to change hardware or staking requirements but it's worth knowing it's on the way (every 2.5 years they have one)
Hahaha, just missed this video I guess. Set mine up yesterday :) Nice video though! Btw, is it possible to run multiple things one one machine? e.g. Fluxnode + mysterium node or heck even ScPrime on the same machine (but using external storage ofc in that case)
Haha nice one on getting one set up 👍 I've only heard it's not a good idea to run multiple things on a Flux node - so as tempting as it is I'm not going to on mine. I think you really need to keep as many resources for it free as possible. If your Node performs badly you go down on the list to receive your payment...
Thank you for publishing this video. If I understood correctly, we need abt $500 to run a single Cumulus node and the monthly earning is abt $5.6. Did I get that right? Also, can we run multiple nodes on the same IP or it has to be different IP? Lastly, do you have any video for earning something using Pi4? I have a few Pi's here and I am currently running MYST node on them. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, yes that's right (the earnings). Don't forget that the market is down so the price of FLUX is quite low (another reason I got in now). So if it went back up to $3 again that'd turn into ~$34/month - again, not massive numbers but who knows where it might be in 5 or 10 years from now... Yes you can run multiple nodes from the same ISP - just make sure you have enough bandwidth to cope - if you pause at 13:32 you can see that option 14 lets you set up a multinode configuration With your Pi4 I'd suggest what I'm going to make a video on next wee - a Presearch node (plenty of others have made videos on it if you want to get started) . I'm always looking for other things to run on mine so will make videos if I find more 👍
Watched the full video anyways to see if it's similar to how I did it xD, looking forward to see how much it makes. Guess it will be around the same as ScPrime, Helium, Myst, ... So I guess multiple small amounts make a nice monthly payout...
Nice! From what I understand you're in a 'queue' to get your rewards - so it can take a few weeks I've found before you get rewarded for your contribution to the network - I too panicked until I learnt this! 😅
I've put this on my new FTTP line so I'm not worried about is consuming bandwidth (It's 1Gbps down and 100Mbps up). The requirements are 25Mbps so as long as you have a decent enough line you shouldn't notice anything.
Great tutorial, thanks! I have one problem: in Zelcore when I go to apps and choose FluxNodes, the app doesn't add the node like in your tutorial! Can you help?
Another useful video. Still have a problem in putty. After copying and pasting the script from the toolbox, it does not start. Just get a righ-angled bracket. Any idea what went wrong?
Hi, Hex Crypto. Bro, may i know will you get paid every month consistently beside the initial locked FLUX if setting up the FLUX Node? Can the payout cash out freely every month? Thank you.
In a future VID you need to cover the payout process, the FLUX is paid each block to one Node, so you move from bottom to top and get paid ( every 10 to 11 days ). The reward is paid in FLUX and FLUX-TOKENS ... BTW: once you get DOS'ed you put to the bottom ... so you need to monitor your Node closely ;-)
@@HexCryptoYT Also you should join the FLUX discord, they have some funding ongoing where they give away flux to yters ;-) I see your Vid-tut could be rewarded ... you have a quite detailed setup on cheap hardware ;-)
Have you considered setting up a Cumulus Thunder (Fractus) node. The change to the Thunder node is easy. I'm just not sure how to handle the storage. I converted my SCPrime storage node to a Flux Cumulus node and want to use the large HD for Thunder but am uncertain on how to configure Ubuntu for the storage. I thought it may be similar to the SCPrime storage setup but am unsure. Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you.
I did think about it but I don't have that much storage lying around sadly. But yes adding the storage on would be the same as how we added an external disk to our SCPrime mini PC; it'll just show as a different name and size probably 👍
500 dollar locked to gain 5 at moth , plus cost of hardware wallapop pc abut 200 dolar, ?¿?¿?¿, , , dont see the profit , better option , maybe a raptoreum node, net video about it ? ;)
I wouldn't personally trust COTX after they got temporarily suspended last year for 'gaming' the Helium network...That was the suspicion at least, I don't know what the final say on it was. You won't have any idea what other little 'apps' they might install on their Flux node system for their own gain (some kind of miner or other way of making money possibly). Call me sceptical but there's no smoke without fire...
@@HexCryptoYT they were removed from suspension by helium a few months later. One of their distributors abused their miners instead of selling to customers which pulled them in fire as well. It was all cleared up because COTX proved that they didn't do anything wrong. In fact since that little event, COTX really locked down their devices. I did a security analysis between quite a few different brands (submitted my analysis to helium foundation).
@@HexCryptoYT I am the team lead developer for COTX Fluxnode so i know whats running in there. We may end up offering COTX Fleximining to our fluxnode customers however under no circumstances anything will get side loaded by COTX for COTX gains. As such we are in close communication with FLUX team and plan on shipping out a low power and stable passive income generating device for the crypto community. I would like to invite you to our Discord and have a chat with myself and our team. It would be our pleasure to answer any questions you and other community members may have.
That's good to hear, as you can tell that message didn't get passed on to the end user so the image of COTX is/was still a bad name for me - glad it was cleared up though and it'll be interesting to see how your Flux variants go - best of luck with them 👍
another top teir tutorial, looking forward to the PRESEARCH video
Thanks very much, yep will try and get it out next week 😎👍
Great Flux content! Appreciate this - keep it coming! Really useful.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for another great video. Unless I missed it you should probably mention the halvening. Its coming up in February.
Good shout I hadn't spotted that - will add a pinned comment, thanks.

really great content .
my question is can we create a flux node on docker on windows OS ?! and how can we make it ?
Thanks .
I don't believe so no - you'd have to virtualise a Linux environment on there and it'd get very messy very quickly I think...

Hi, I cannot open fluxOS error this message. Please Help
Failed: Error on FluxOs response - Flux is not available for outside communication
How much bandwidth is this using? Are you using a seperate line for this? Presume it would hinder a regular internet connection?

does need to be intel j4125. or higher? thanks
Yes it does

Yes you could do - you'd need to leave it switched on 24/7 though
240 gb still ok?
Yes that should be fine - minimum is actually 220 but I forgot they make drives at 240GB 👍

If you don't own any you can buy some from Binance, KuCoin etc.
