@@Minifigz U can see it in its Lego version I the great video game Lego Lord of the Rings. At 1 moment of the game, u play Gandalf who's fighting the Balrog while they fall in the bottomless hole.
I also hope that there will be cheaper sets. Many MOC builders like myself just really want a cheaper way to get the minifigures without having to dish out $500 for a set, or pay secondary market prices to just get the figures. I could always just build my own large-scale diorama of a Middle Earth location. I wish LEGO would make LOTR/castle minifigure battle packs like they do with Star Wars.
I wonder how they'd do a Minas Tirith set. Looking at sets like Rivendell at $500, I don't know if even a $700-800 price point would be enough for them to capture it well.
I mean look at the helms see playset from a few years back. They did it just live without going all in on details and size. I’d be happy with both a ucs version and a playscale one
They absolutely need to do a set like the Hogwarts one that came out this year and even with that solution I strongly believe that it would have to cost more than 500 dollars to look good enough.
I agree! I'd SO love many LotR sets, but mainly Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith, and I wrote I'd love them as HUGE sets with many thousands of pieces, cause specially Minas Tirith is such a great city that tons of bricks r needed to make a faithful Lego adaptation of it. It needs more pieces than any set so far, but the pb is I'm not a billionaire, so, could I spend 1500.- just for a single Lego set, would that b reasonable...?
@@Minifigz I recently discovered that, 10 years ago, they did several LotR sets, and I saw a pic of the Helm's Deep set. @@b.willisfederer8720 yeah I think helms deep you can get away with making it playscale size. But Minas tirith could only really be done as a ucs set. And even then would have to be like $1000 to make it accurate

I could see them producing a Edoras set in 2025 akin to Rivendell and Baradur with the Rohirrimm movie coming out this year. I also see a lot of demand for a Minas Tirith set in the same vein. I want to see some $75-100 dollar diorama sets like star wars. Sets that could fit this perfectly could be "get off the road", Amon hen battle, frodo and sam in the boats, the dead marshes, mt doom, the last alliance, ride of the rohirrim, lighting the beacons, lothlorien, the door of durin, gandalf arriving to the shire, and so much more
The problem with Lord of the Rings is that everything in that world is huge and epic. The smaller more affordable sets don't do it justice but the full size fortresses would be so massive and ridiculously expensive that nobody could afford them. I think the solution could be micro scale sets. It worked perfectly well for the Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set. Imagine a micro scale Minas Tirith, Isengard, Helm's Deep, Edoras or Minas Morgul with glow-in-the-dark bricks.
Not sure I totally agree. Yes a expensive 400 dollar set would do something like minas tirith the most justice. But like the old helms deep you can still get a very decent looking set for around the $150 mark
@@Minifigz Yes, Helm's Deep might be an exception since it's the tiniest of all the fortresses. Maybe Cirith Ungol could work as well.
